which people do diff ppl connect up to, Being a Naqvi I know that Naqvis are from Ali Naqi’s family. could you tell me of the others.

btw ppl must ask you fraudia if you are shia..haina..naqvi is a very shia name :)

you always forget, I have shia as well as sunni relatives. I dont think anyone really uses the word Naqvi with the name, Syed is used by many, or Shah.
ppl dont ask me because the word Naqvi is not used as part of the name, officially i dont even use Syed so that is not an issue, in discussions when it is mentioned people do wonder how I can be a naqvi and not be shia :)
anyways really can someone list who diff families connect to, and who they were in relationt o Hazrat Ali- Imam hasan and Imam Hussein?

Ja'farys are from
Imam Abu Abdallah Ja'far bin Muhammad (al-Sadiq) (as)
Kazimis are from
Imam Abu Ibrahim Musa bin Ja'far (al-Kazim) (as)
rizvis are from
Imam Abu al-Hasan Ali bin Musa (al-Reza) (as)
naqvis are from (as you know)
Imam Abul-Hasan Ali bin Muhammad al-Hadi al-Naqi(as)
P.S. I am not sure about Sherazis and Bukharis though but I have heard that some of the family members of Imam Zainul-'Abideen (as) moved to Sheraz and Bukhara. (please correct me if I am wrong)

There are hassanis and gilanis from Imam Hassan (as). Most Bukhari seyeds are naqvi-bukharis. Musawis are also from Imam Musa Kazim (as).
In Iran and other Arab countries, you cant tell who is a seyed and whose not, by these kind of surnames. Naqvi, rizvi etc. is a subcontinant phenomenan. The arab seyeds are known as shurafa in saudi arabia.

You posted above that you also have shia reletives. Please ask them if they have 14 Sitarey (14 Stars). You can not only get a lot of information from that book on the life of Imams (as) but also on the lifes of Bib zainab and Hadhrat Abbas Alamdar.
