Yummy food recipes for a 1 year old

Hi,

My daughter is 14 months and is ready to try proper food. She dislikes baby food, jars etc.. and loves pilau rice.

i make here chicken chawal, keema chawal, meat chawal, daal chawal etc… but obviously chawal all the time is not great.

Please can all the mums out there give me ideas of what i can make for her…it has to be yummy enough for adults to eat otherwise she won’t eat it…she is a real little madam.

i would really appreciate all your help and ideas.

thanks!

I'm not a mum but you could make tandori chicken roti rolls for her.

Lol, I remember my cousin used to sometimes make french fries (thinly slice potato and fry) for her daughter when she was 1-years-old. She'd call em "cheepy" (chips). It's not the healthiest thing....but it can be included as a side/snack. You can also try pasta (the shorter variety so it isn't mess)...sandwiches...roti wraps

The title of this thread is too cute :D

But as for food ideas: Baked/ grilled chicken with less masala for her, casseroles, lazanias or fresh cold pasta.

yesterday i made paratha for my 1 years grl and she loved it

Re: Yummy food recipes for a 1 year old

How could she not like those baby food jars? :emmy: They were the best, I think I ate them till I was 4 or 5. Try a different flavour and she might like it. Trust me, I have a year’s experience of being a one year old :sweetif:

Re: Yummy food recipes for a 1 year old

why don't you serve what you eat but mix it with yogurt before you give it to her?

Re: Yummy food recipes for a 1 year old

I think she is old enough to eat whatever you guys eat...well almost everything....
I sometimes wash some boti or veggies we are eating and mix it with rice and give it to my 10.5 month old daughter.I have found that she actually likes it better than anything which is more bland like baby food.
Other than rice, you can try some pasta or make tiny parathas, either plain or with some stuffing like qeema or aaloo ....
A friend was telling me another good way to incorporate some fruits and even veggies into their diets was to make pancakes and then cut them up into bite size pieces so that they can pick it up themselves and eat.She said she used to even put some cheese into her child's pancakes.
I am sure it will be yummy enough for your daughter...:)
