I tried on their lipstick and mascara at sephora yesterday, they have colored mascaras..i tried the burgundy one, it looked okay (ut made wicked pink/purple streaks on my cheeks later :halo: ), but i tried on their lipstick (#18, red taboo) ohhh soooo soft and…just soft! but… both of these things cost more than my textbooks. so how do i justify this purchase, esp when i have lots more mascaras and a boatload of lipsticks sittingin my makeup drawer which btw i barely use :hinna:
I use touche eclat, mascara, lip gloss (it has real gold in it!) and got an eye shadow compact. Eye shadow is better than some cheaper brands bcos it stays on for longer, as in u can see the colour for longer stronger colour.
I find the mascara really gives volume and length BUT for me it tends to crumble down onto my cheeks as the day wears on, so for that reason i wouldn't get another one.
Lip gloss i love, it tastes fruity too!
If u find something u like, and u use it often, then the cost is justfiied. If u barely use it and its going to be relegated to your old drawer, just don't waste your money.
Ive tried YSL's cosmetics but I havent found something I would pay that much for. I love buying beauty products so Im not being cheap, just dont see why I would pay $50 for orange eye shadow. Personally, I really like eyeshadow by Lancome, MAC and Christian Dior.
Mascara is something I LOVE. The best mascara Ive used has been (believe it or not) Loreal's Voluminous in Black Noir...use this under a coat of Lancome's Definicils or even Hypnose and you've got bomblastic lashes!!!
Lipstick is different...I like Lancome's lipsticks a lot too...very soft and creamy. I might spend a good amount on a lipstick if the quality and color is good. Look around a little bit and see if you find anything else that catches your eye.
their eyeshadws r OUT OF THIS WORLD...my absoute favorites...have a painters set (really looks like an artists pallete)...little clear bottles of paint (eyeshadow) and proper painting brushes...the colors r deep plum and pale pink/gold, and midnight blue that can even go black....
as for their powder eyeshadows--they work wonders:) have this wheel of colors: pink, aubergine, shimmery white, grayish blue, very deep plum, etc etc
Real gold??? how so?? I saw their eyeshadows at Sephor they looked ohh soo pretty…but never justifiable at least not right now.
Ooh you know what my new fave drugstore brand is the maybelline reat lash..the pink and green bottle. i only have one real fancv mascara that i ever bought (not the esteelauder/lancome stuff included in the free gifts), Dior, and it smells divine..
I dont know BR...Ive tried the YSL eyeshadows and they dont do much for me...I wasnt quite thrilled by them. The touche eclat looked a little chalky on me.
But thats the way it is with cosmetics...not every brand will suit everyone. Find what works for you.
Sara you dont need another mascara and eyeshadow. Do you have any big wedding to go to in the near future? If not, then you should stay away from these dept stores.

yeah u r right--surprisngly so many MAC/Lancome products dont suit me---every skin, feature is so differnt and for make up its hard to say something is wonderful cuz really its all relative:)

I'm not an art major at all, in fact i took one class in college and i hated it so much i decided to never take an more courses... not worth my effort.. so yeah my drawing is just time-paas, tho after shadi i dont do it as much anymore..
