You're kidding, right? How is this going to hurt west? Banning YT/FB and Google or even internet is wont make any diff to the west. It will only deprived the Muslims in the countries where its banned, and it show the level of intolerance toward the very ideas that west is based on, like free speech. It also harms Muslims in western countries where people rightly are scared of Muslims and their intolerance of things like free speech, democracy and the rule of law. Why do you think European countries like France, Netherlands and Belgium are banning burqa and minarets?

And to answer your question, they ban Islam because they are afraid of the modest lifestyle it brings. They feel threatened that their children will learn modesty. They feel threatened by the true way of life. The deen sent down by Allah.

just 65 gigs for whole country this guy must be joking they are offering 2 n 4 mbs to home users, their USB 3gs give around 1-1.5 mbs how 65gigs is supporting that much user base remember there are around more than 150000 broadband users in pakistan based on last years research.

Well yazdi, why are you getting so angry over this issue? I am sure they will re-activate it someday, may be with some more filters. But right now , at this moment, the need is to show West or precisely to those ppl who have started all this mess with solo purpose of making fun of Muslims and their beliefs, that they should not take us so easy. If we all sat quitely today, and let them do what they want, One it will hurt many muslims and make them feel weak, two its gonna invite massive violance around the globe (specially in countries like Pak where ppl are more emotional) and 3rd those western besharams will get courage to do something more besharam tomorrow. A little warning is very important so they think atleast twice before they think of repeating something like this again.

Yes there are some educational videos but let face it they are a small part of it.

People need to go , get out and live a real life interact with real people face to face and just just through computers.

Youtube must learn that the world is made up of different cultures and if it wants to be a global organisation then it MUST RESPECT those different views.

You did not bother to open the thread I provided from the dawn website... just look at the picture of these mullah/mullani protest.. to get internet banned in the country!!!

If you are hurt because of my mullah derogatory remarks, you should learn to tolerate a different view point instead of getting violent or advocating banning every tool of freedom of speech and learning...

Before you teach people "to tolerate", YOU need to learn who to use the word "mullah/mullahni" for. Not everyone who is trying to follow religion is a mullah/mullani. The picture of protesting people shows a lady wearing veil, how does she qualify for "mullani"? Its shame that we Muslims do the same generalization we accuse others of.
