yes... they are just that "idealistic"

well in that case, either Islam has erred in having such rules or we as muslims can follow them with some extraordinary amount of effort. Which one do you think is more plausible?
Then i guess the Perfumed garden was just a book by a crazy mullah. Sheesh…for a religion that requires sex, we seem to think that it is dirty and filthy. It is part of life. Something Allah created. How can it be so undesirable then?

Maahek…are u wanting us to agree or disagree with Quranic Text…?
I think I agree with what Islam’s perspective about sex-marriage-romance, etc is…however, I think sometimes we end up viewing sex as something dirty…which Islamically - its not.
And sometimes we think that romance is haraam --which its not.
Islam tells you how to control yourself in regards to sex and lust and caring feelings for a member of the opposite sex. It teaches you - hey, you are going to feel this way because this is your biological nature (ie. God made this a part of you), but we are not animals in that we CAN control ourselves if we want to. And that is one of the highest forms of worship…being able to control your animal desires for better things…

So anyone even tried doin that?!?! i kno people just go thru the above points n label them as old-fashoined or impossible or mayb just un-practical.. but did u guys even tried that ?!?! i am not sayin that i do all the above.. but i do kno if i really want to do it.. i can do it.... n its not impossible.... its just that we r not even willing to try ... so if there is a fault anywhere... mayb its just us.
CM bhai, its not sex but promiscuous sex, which is barred by islam. It is simple to make that distinction.

Sex is sex. That is not haraam. It is the individual action of breaking the code by which you have sex before the proper time. That act is haraam. Not sex itself. People need to make the distinction. For a soceity where Rumi wrote about being in a drunken stupor and comparing to love for Allah and where Molvis complied books on Sex and what are the best positions. We have turned into the freaking Roman Catholic Church.
