Yousuf says no to ad campaign. But why?

Re: Yousuf says no to ad campaign. But why?

LM, you completely went off a tangent on this one....two unrelated examples.

Anyways, all that I am saying is that "personal reasons" or not, for a person whose pictures are always splashed on TV, Newspapers and Magazines...it is absurd (illogical and unreasonable) to ask not to be photographed for a commercial. If he had a non-religious reason for this, it would be understandable - otherwise I will say what I said - He is a friggin show-off. If he is targetting sainthood, I suggest he stop playing Cricket.

Re: Yousuf says no to ad campaign. But why?

Wrong. Moyo is signatory to the central contract that requires abiding by all Pcb commitments which includes sponsor requirements. Now the sponsor is not new niether is the requirement, if there is a change its with the player. Had this been someother player for other reasons then Pcb and rest of Pakistan wud have come down on him like a ton of bricks.

By the way, given Moyo and Inzi attitudes that day is not far when shalwar kameez maybe used on the field.

Company does not have many choices when it comes to issues relating to religious values in Pakistan. That is called religious fascism. No hard feelings.

Re: Yousuf says no to ad campaign. But why?

Actually I think otherwise. People can live normal life and live happily. But if you think eating pig is haram dont tell me that pig-kabas is halal but curry is not. If you think taking picture is Haram then I respect your wish and you have right to follow it. But then you shouldnot be in business of entertainment. Stay home. Go to Mosque . Pray to your God and live happily. Islam allows exception in case of majboori but I dont think it is Majbori for him to play cricket. Majboori is when your kid is dying because of food and you need to bring food to table.
This kinda hpocracy gives other people good ammunication to say that it is a 7th century relegion which has not yet moved to 8th century.
This reminded me of story of a Village in Bengal where no one was ever photographed because “if you take photo of someone, Allh will ask you put life in it which you cant. Therefore you will be punished.” Irony was that Mullah was giving this interview on Camera for AajTak. Talk of hypocracy… :rotfl:

PS: He did for relegion reason as per this
It is a personal decision of Yousuf and we can’t interfere in someone’s religious beliefs,” said Saleem Altaf, PCB director, cricket operations.
