Moyo is taking things to another level, off the field though. Few questions for Moyo:

1. Whats the difference btw television and still photos?
2. Is playing cricket halal? after all, its a total waste of time, no contribution at all to anyone except for the sponsors and cricketers who get rich.
3. Will Moyo return all sponsors money made from previous commercials?
4. Will he stop playing cricket for the public?

And for the Pcb bunch of hypocrites, why do they have different rules for different players? Afterall Shaibee was pulled up when he refused to wear sponsor logoes with good reason (he was dropped from the national side).

Yousuf says no to ad campaign

KARACHI, March 13: Pakistan batsman **Mohammad Yousuf has refused to be photographed for a special World Cup campaign launched by a major sponsor of the team and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The cellular company Mobilink is running a big campaign with members of the Pakistan team for the World Cup with Yousuf conspicuous by his absence.

A spokesman for the company which has a contract with the board and players said Yousuf had declined to be photographed.

“We photographed the entire team but Mohammad Yousuf requested not to be photographed for his personal reasons,” Omar Manzoor said.

“It is a personal decision of Yousuf and we can’t interfere in someone’s religious beliefs,” said Saleem Altaf, PCB director, cricket operations.—Reuters

You guys need to cool down a little. If playing cricket was Haram than MoYo would have stopped it immediately. In fact, cricket is not haram. And the word Haram/Halal are no light words by any means because these are the things either allowed or prohibited by Allah (swt). Halal way of earning your livelihood cannot be termed haram. He is not wasting his time, because I am sure his intention is to earn halal income and the same way we spend 8-10 hours a day working at our jobs, as long as they are Halal and we make the right intention, we are not wasting our time either.

As for the picture or photo-shoot, I guess that his personal opinion because the matter can be discussed and different “Islamic School of Thoughts” have difference of opinion on that matter. But if “Mobilink” accepted his reasoning, than we should all do as well. After all, he is our brother in Islam first and a cricketer second.
