HYDERABAD: Member Pakistan Cricket Board selection committee Shoaib Mohammad said that Imran Nazir and Imran Farhat, who displayed better performance in the controvercial ICL, may be considered to be included in the Pakistan team.
He said that Mohammad Yousuf may also stage a comeback in the national team if there is no disciplinary action against him in the way but the board policy has to be considered.
He was talking with media on the occasion of the inauguration of the sixth All-Hyderabad Naeemuddin Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Akbari Ground, Lateefabad on Sunday.
Shoaib Mohammad said that he is not in the position of saying anything about the future of Mohammad Yousuf but there were some differences regarding the ICL and the PCB due to which he is currently not in the Pakistan cricket team. However, he may be included in the team if he performs well.
Replying to a question, Shoaib said that holding the series between Pakistan and India is looking difficult.
What is wrong with Shoaib Mohammad??? If an ordinary person gives this statement it make sense. But c’mon being a national selector he should know that Yousuf is a banned player and no matter how well he performs, he is not eligible for selection. And what performance he is talking about? Performance in ICL? Since when PCB has started to evaluate players performances in ICL???
I think most of us would love to have ICL players back in Pakistan national circuit but the board needs to have a clear-cut policy regarding these players.
I really don't understand the first part of his statement. Aren't those two in the 'rebel' league? So PCB has banned all of them, then why on earth is he bringing just those two in the process of selection as if ICL is considered as PCB's equivalent to domestic circuit? Why just talk about those two especially knowing they are banned already? Don't get this at all. I mean either you first talk about removing the ban or you don't remove the ban. You can't pick and choose on who is performing and who is not performing from a league which is universally banned by all boards. PCB is not the only one.
As for Mohammad Yousuf, since the previous media reports have already stated the differences between him and the board, will Yousuf earn his way back into the team just on the basis of good performance? Wouldn't the "differences" then come into the picture? I think Yousuf should be in the team because of his constant A-grade performances but these last few weeks, he spoke out against PCB and especially Shoaib Malik which I did not see coming.
DB I guess he pointed out Nazir and Farhat from the bunch due to their better performance in the ICL. But why he is even considering them and their performance in the ICL???
All of them including Moyo have been banned from any type of cricket in Pakistan. So I don’t know where and how anyone is going to evaluate Moyo’s performance when he is not allowed to play in Pakistan. And even bigger question is WHY PCB is going to consider him for any selection without PCB changing their ICL stance???

Today there was a "low profile" and sort of "consolatory" statement from MoYo in the jung sort of "I dont have any personal problems with Malik etc etc" may be a facilated healing process is already underway and Shoaib's statement is part of the same process!
