well your gay friend is a slut psyah, does that make all gay people sluts? moreover, a marriage is supposedly the demand of couples who aren’t promiscuous and want to be committed to each other. so your little story isn’t too relevant here.

as for marriage holy, from god etc - separation of church and state. marriages are no longer in the sole realm of the religious clergy.
