You're being watched

When I use my laptop I get the feeling that I’m being watched.

Is there a possibility for that?

Re: You’re being watched

How do you get the feeling?

The only way somebody can be literally watching your screen, is through remote access.. That’s something you would personally set up. If you have standard and basic safety tools on your system, nobody should be able to get a remote access without your permission.

Re: You’re being watched

^what is my PC gets hacked?

Re: You’re being watched

its your LT.
don’t worry.

Re: You’re being watched

What are you doing which you do not want big brother to know ?

Re: You’re being watched

Then the basic security tools on your system would notice it and prompt you about it. Absolutely.

Re: You’re being watched

^thanks.

^ LOL.

Re: You’re being watched

You cable provider do keep track of your activities . Try watching child porn online and FBI will be knocking on your door the next day .

Re: You’re being watched

darn it! I know about that…I was thinking what if, sitting in front of my laptop, someone can hack my webcam and see me through it?

Re: You’re being watched

i get tha feelin wen im on cam .. weird

Re: You’re being watched

You can monitor all the internet activity for your home internet too . Do this . . .

  1. Register with OpenDNS ( Its free )
  2. Change DNS settings of your home router to OpenDNS IPs ( again free )
  3. Login to your OpenDNS account and check log for the Internet activity ( free )

and plus you can actually put parental control via OpenDNS too . Means if you want to ban Facebook in your house , just add it to your OpenDNS account and no one will be able to access it .

:k:

Re: You’re being watched

Put a piece of black tape on the webcam and problem solved. Jeez, do i have to give all common sense solutions?

** you do know a where your webcam is right…**

Re: You’re being watched

there was once a girl who’s laptop got hacked, her webcam can be viewed by hacker

i think he got to know her physical address (mac address)

Re: You’re being watched

 omg!

Re: You’re being watched

Hareem, I’ve met a few girls who were scared of this. They were not computer experts enough to realize how complicated and obvious such a hack would be and would not go under the scanner of your basic security tools.

In anycase, they used to put a small black opaque tape on the camera.. in the rare occasion wher they wanted to use the camera, they would take the tape off, andput it back on later. I guess they got a lot of psychological relief with this.

Re: You’re being watched

So it can happen. Thanks for the advice sharabee. :k:

Re: You’re being watched
