Re: Your worst journey
**it happened when i was a student at AligaRh Muslim University. my hometown was 300 miles [8 hours] away from AligaRh. my university was closed down due to unrest and we had to take the first train out to our hometowns. u can imagine that there were in excess of 25,000 students at to leave within 24 hours.
The Railways ran a few special trains and we all had to cramp inside like a sardine. i remember i had to travel my entire journey of 8 hours with my HALF of my body dangling outside the door window. i was like sitting on the open window with one leg inside the train while the other leg, my chest and head stick out of the train. phew! it was 8 hours of hell with train speed of up to 120-130 km/hr.
Khuda Khudaa kar ke ghar pahoNche! :)**
Re: Your worst journey
i had two.
first one was from Narita to Hong Kong, coming back after 3 months in Hiroshima and arrived in Tokyo a night before. Paid my 3 months hotel bill in Hiroshima through Amex and found it blocked on the following morning while checking out from the hotel in Tokyo. Didnt even have enough cash to pay for the hotel and paid them all i had in my pocket (which was slightly over 100$ and no Yen). They even allowed me an international call to my bank but bank refused to help as i had already made payments beyond my card limit.
My misery didnt end here, air ticket had expired and they asked for the extra money at the airport before they could check me in, that was also my 90th day in country. 8:00 a.m in Tokyo meaning offices in the whole world were closed. Called a Japanies friend in Hiroshima, she arranged for the payment through her card and i luckily made it to the flight just in time.
Even when i reached at my destination, had no money for the taxi. Called another friend after landing at the airport and requested him to keep the money ready when i arrive :)
a lengthy post already, will write the second one some other time.
