Why do people say she is the perfect wife?
The first time you spoke to her was after the wedding. In your hotel room, you asked her if she would like something to drink. She replied that you could bring her whatever you wanted.
I think people are misinterpreting this part. It's not that the wife is willing to drink/do whatever her husband gets/tells her, its that it doesn't matter to her what the drink is. For her, the tastiest drink isn't anymore desirable then tap water.

Keyboard was inspired by Khirad who also didn't have any preferences and told Asher to take her wherever he wants, feed her whatever he wants, etc. But then one night, a bowl of strawberry ice cream topped with a mint leaf changed everything and thereafter love bloomed....especially on rainy afternoons. Keyboard may have also been inspired by LahoretoLondon's Russian mistress story.
The wife in Keyboard's current situation needs to be inspired....perhaps he can get her interested in creating hypothetical stories where the sky is the limit when it comes to imagination.

No interests, no hobbies, no friends. You guys have kids but although she goes through the motions, you get the feeling she doesn't really care about them. There is no affection toward you or your family and their never was. Her father dies from a car accident and your wife neither cries or grieves. You later learn she was severely abused by her parents at a very young age.

Hypothetical & all but emotionally blackmailing someone who has trust issues would prove all her doubts true.If she opened up & trusted u and u used that info to emotionally blackmail

I’d say counselling was the best best.Specially retreats etc which not only give counseling & advice but a new location which is a change & develops hobbies/interests.
so much effort 4 a hypothetical situation .atleast lahoretolondon claimed to be in the problem himself:snooty:. btw people who have a history of abuse have personalities that are either strong portraying a facade or shy .just psy cases studies .It’s not possible over all the years to be bland as u portray.

Back to the OP. If your in Pak, your family might really pressure you not to take her to a psychiatrist since word will spread among the community. They also wont understand the nature of her problems.

Tried talking to her about this? If so, what was the reaction like? Does she realize that her actions are a concern for people around? If her brought-up wasn't normal, you don't expect the behavior to be any normal either. The good news though is that it can be fixed. First step is talk to her. She might have real hard time trusting but you can** use different tactics, being really polite at one time and a bit harsh at others (but don't start scolding, may be try emotional blackmailing) **and something will definitely work which will make her discuss issues. .
