OK. My question remains, why do we stop?
Is this because we want to be good people or have fear that from somewhere unknown a cop would come and catch us.
Come on. I asked a totally related question.
What happenes in religion is the same analogy. People who have fear of God do better deeds than those who do not. Moreover in religion there is a promise for reward. (Not present in stopping at the red light).
Anyone knows that the laws of the land are folllowed not just beacuse one wants to be a good person, it is mainly because of fear of getting punished and that by the way is the most potent deterrant. ![]()
P.S. I hope you have got the understanding of connection between my question and why someone is ‘assured’ to be a good person.
