Your views on religion at home...

Re: Your views on religion at home…

A non-religious person believes this is the only life they have. Personally I do hope that there is an afterlife, but I do not know and neither does anyone else whether there is. This is most likely the only life I have, and I want to make the best of it rather than wasting it away. What motivates us non-religious people to do good? Well, we don’t give to charity or help others for getting some sort of reward from God or going to heaven, but we do it because we are human and we love other people and this is the right thing to do. Simple as that.

I believe there is no need to follow any religion or be religious as most people just follow the religion of their parents or of their culture and there is no true religion yet all claim to be true. It’s better to not follow any religion and live a good life.

If a God is merciful, and there is indeed an afterlife, then all good people regardless of whether or not they were religious will go to heaven.

The fact that religion makes people think that there is an afterlife is dangerous because it makes people want to live this life thinking it’s temporary and live it in the way that their religion tells them to rather than thinking for themselves .
