We see piracy in all forms, and from all sources. Whether it be your local bootlegger on the street selling you the latest dvds, or the new craze for internet piracy that branches into downloading music, documents, movies, software, games, and anything else that one can imagine.
MPAA and other organization have protested against piracy strongly, and have even reached Washington through their lobbying efforts to get action taken against piracy here in the U.S. and abroad (namely Sweden).
It's the users or as they're referred in the P2P world, peers, against the makers of product, Hollywood/Software Programmers/Technology giants like Microsoft, etc.
What is your view on it? Is piracy ethical, and should it be allowed? Is it the right of the users to decide the fate of companies that spend so much money and produce a product to only have it pirated all across the globe with a simple click of a button, free of cost? Or are the enforcers of copyright laws correct in prosecuting and going after people who indulge in Piracy?
PS: Piracy is considered Illegal in the U.S. and those found committing it can be prosecuted according to the laws in their states.
