Your Views on Obama Administration

Scenario: You’re an ordinary muslim (youth/elderly, no matter the age group). You have heard President Barack Obama addressing the Muslim nations in Cairo very recently. You have seen him trying to reach out to the muslims worldwide. After the speech, you read the text version of the speech and really begin to think and understand what was being conveyed to the masses by American President.

You Act: So, after the viewing and brainstorm, you opt to write a letter to the President of U.S.A. in expressing how you feel about his approach to foreign policy, all inclusive.

The gig: If you were to write to President Obama, what would you say? How would you get your point across?

I just thought it would be interesting to see what some of us might have to say to President Obama, if given the opportunity to write to the man himself. So, please draft a sample letter and share what you would say. This could possibly serve as an informal poll to see how most of us feel about the President’s outreach/technique/and policy approach.

Note: This is for all members. Both muslim and non-muslim alike, but when writing please keep in perspective the Obama speech in Cairo because your output should be based on that, which would generally reflect a muslim p.o.v. in accordance with the speech’s motif, its location, and its intended audience.

Also please make sure what you paste are your own thoughts, and if you use something from elsewhere to support your stance then a source is required. (links to other forums, or discussion portals are highly discouraged.)

Thanks as always for participating.

Re: Your Views on Obama Administration

Mr. President,

I was among the audiences of the speech of yours, which most claims to be the foundation stone for the new era of cooperation and development between the Islamic World and American Led Western World.

I don't know how deep wounds can be healed with speeches like these, followed by no action what so ever, as an average Muslim, living in the Muslim World, sees your speech as a political statement, have essence of some ground realities to make it credible and at same time suggesting no solution to any of the problems ( long or short). With American Army present in Iraq and Afghanistan, with their threats to invade Pakistan, with their attitude of declaring Muslims as the root cause to every problem in the world, i don't think that your speech had made any difference nor shall any of these will make any in future.

Sir, with all due respect, Muslims are on the receiving end, WMDs were never found in Iraq but yes millions were killed by using American WMDs, Al-Qaeda's leadership was never found in Afghanistan, but millions were killed their as well, now Americans are looking forward to repeat the same in Pakistan. Thousands were killed in Gaza, yes I am talking about the recent Israeli offensive on Gaza, yet Israel is the victim and your emphasis is to remind the world about a 70 year old masscare which may or may not have happened and irony is you never saw any of it from your own forces or from the forces of your allied nations.

We are receving dead bodies, graveyards in Islamic World are multiplying, we are burriying our soldiers, we are lossing our friends and loved ones. Every time we look in the dead bodies we found Indian, Isreali and Western ammunination which is either been used on them by your forces or by the militias funded by your allies. Do you have any control on the distribution of this arms and ammunation? yet, you blame other countries for terrorism and have forgotten the fact that these terrorists are using the arms produced in your factories. Are you intentionally arming them to make some profit and at the same time preaching us peace?

Mr. President, like the Islamic World my thoughts are distorted and so is this letter, we the average Muslims accept nothing from you but to stop bombarding us, to stop supporting those who are the supporters of terrorists, you do that and you need no more speeches, the action will speak.

Re: Your Views on Obama Administration

Hi Prez,

It is true that your predecessor was foolish in how he dealt with 'mozlums' except the royal house of Saud. That doesn't mean you have to go overboard in what you say. Don't treat 'mozlums' as naive children who can be swayed one way or ther by such charming school words.

The best way to impress upon rogue nations (some of which happen to be 'mozum' at this point) is to show that you don't care whether they are 'mozlum' or not. Deal with North Korea strongly; stop selling arms to nations in conflict such as Israel, middle-east, Pakistan and India.

Take the 'grant' money ear marked for these countries and give it to your weapons manufacturerers and ask them to build factories in the USA to make electric irons, fountain pens, stethoscopes and computer parts....there in Ohio Michigan and Washington.

Stop redistributing wealth. Let people earn their worth.

Most of all stop talking. Do SOMETHIMG!

me

hmph he has to contend with his congress you know. where comes the money for compaigning and all? then there are the political justifications and the weighing of advantages and disadvantages. knowing where most of the senator supports come from in us parliament it wouldnt take long to hazard the guess that middle east is going to be 'rogue' area for a long time that calls for attention and all those on the edges are jsut the route.
