Peace raj_ind and calypsodc,

Let assume an explanation given by Dr. Zakir Naik about something, that we found incorrect/illogical either its related to religion Islam or related to any other religion (in comparative religion study), then what? Shall we start criticizing him or shall we further investigate the matter by our own and come up with correct logic then try to heal others?

Do you remember his 2+2 forumla? Allow me to re-write again in short he said one student answered 2+2 is = 4 whereas another student answered its = 5. Now the question is who’s answer is correct? The one answered 4 or the another who answered 5. Ofcoz every1 say the first student who answered 4. But the point of ponder is who established that 2+2=4 is 100% correct? What was the logic behind and why we blindly believe in that 4 is correct answer not 5 without any further investigation?

Either you agree or disagree but we all are very lazy and depending or others (system) too much and when sometime (a system) goes against our likes we start criticizing it rather then further studying about it (that system) and to make it easy (as heal) for us and for others too.

The 2+2 analogy illustrates perfectly why his logic is flawed. He says that Islam says 2+2=4 (which is correct), while other religions say 2+2 = 3 or 2+2 = 5. Therefore, Islam is correct. This is not how religious doctrines stand up to each other in real life.

The real analogy is that Islam says 2+2 = 4, and Islam says that other religions say 2+2 is **not **4. At the same time, other religions say that 2+2 = 4, and they also say that Islam says that 2+2 is not 4. All religions, by spreading their doctrine, are saying the same thing (we’re the right path), which again, proves nothing about which religion is “correct”. His whole analogy is false but people eat it up like he just explained something incredible. That’s the problem I have with him. He’s either lying on purpose, or he can’t understand the flaws in his own logic, and we should seek knowledge from people who can enlighten us, not from those who are clouding the issues.

At the end of the day, people see what they want when it comes to religion. No religion can be proven “right”, if it could, then religious doctrine would be put up for criticism. It would be legal, and safe, to pick apart any religious text, but that’s heresy in the minds of the religion’s followers.
