What do you do? The tattoo is not subtle but does get covered with clothes so problems at work is not an issue. However, he/she didn’t tell you and aside from them not asking you, you find it incredibly stupid (say the tattoo is of some uber-retro and outdated looking dragon or even worse, A TRIBAL insert ulti emoti), how long do you stay mad before you accept it? Removing will cost a few grand, something you cannot afford. Do you accept it and forgive them eventually?

Yeah, no big deal. In fact I’m waiting for my husband to come home with some strange looking tattoo some day. It’ll be kinda cool and all.

Too late no? Although, would've been nice if they had asked/discussed such a permanent change. I suppose talk to them and let them know you would like to be included in such permanent decision in the future. Hopefully they will understand your feelings.
