First of, no one .. Not even your sibling will take anything said against his/her child. You were totally wrong there making a joke like that.

Second of, him saying something in humour to his wife is different because thats HIS wife. You don’t know their equation.. They might be best of friends with each other, they migjt usually joke around, they might taunt each other in humour .. You shouldnt be judging his personality based on that.

But it’s not unusual for relatives or friends to call a child “dark” in a derogatory way and the parent just keep quiet.. Come to think of it I’ve seen parents talk about their own kids as well like that.. not that it makes it ok of course..
