Rule of thumb: You never call someone’s kid or baby ugly. Even if you think the kid isn’t so easy on the eyes, just keep your opinion to yourself.

Normally when people see a baby they don’t find cute, they will say “oh isn’t he/she precious” so they don’t have to use the word “adorable” or “cute” or whatever. Either that or just stay silent.

It doesn’t matter how much you joke around with your friend and insult him, insulting his kid is taking it too far.

Nah. Even my bro said he’d know I was messing about. And he isn’t the first person I’ve said this to, other people got it. The only reason it’s surprised me cause I thought he would have got it to. Considering I’m a piss taker in general. But he didn’t, probably cause we’re not tight like that.

Something in humour of his wife? What? Lol. This is a guy who came to work one day and wasn’t talking and an hr later told me he punched his wife just before he came to work cause she pushed him or something. Yeah, let’s ask her if she found humour in that to. I’ve only hanged out with the guy once outside of work and that was when I first joined the company, before I knew what he was like. This is the dude who is actively trying to cheat and told me he wants to go Iran, marry a 14yr old girl, bang her and divorce her and come back. Like wtf? You want me to give consideration to a guy like this and not hurt his feelings?

I’m only rude to him cause he’s got no respect and beating women, allow that. I never saw him the same after that and any good work relationship we did have got strained. I don’t condone that kinda stuff. That’s what scum of society do. It pisses me off and I don’t associate myself with garbage like this nor do I blow smoke up their ass and pat them on the back.

The kid has nothing to do with his dad antics so if you’re such a stand up guy…take it out on the father…not the child. You don’t get a gold star for calling an innocent baby ugly.

My advice: next time…pick on someone your own size.

I just wanted to pass along this information.

Calling someone ugly is unIslamic because not only are you insulting that person ( the baby) but you are also insulting the creation of Allah (swt) and the way he has made them.

I’ve been guilty of it, but I try my personal best not to even joke around by calling someone ugly.

First of, no one .. Not even your sibling will take anything said against his/her child. You were totally wrong there making a joke like that.

Second of, him saying something in humour to his wife is different because thats HIS wife. You don’t know their equation.. They might be best of friends with each other, they migjt usually joke around, they might taunt each other in humour .. You shouldnt be judging his personality based on that.

But it’s not unusual for relatives or friends to call a child “dark” in a derogatory way and the parent just keep quiet.. Come to think of it I’ve seen parents talk about their own kids as well like that.. not that it makes it ok of course..

Seriously, what I find surprising is that OP does not have the courage to call his friend out but decides to call the child ugly.

Its one thing to just ignore someone or avoid them because they’re just not your type of person.

But its another thing entirely to use a kid to lash out at someone.
