What is your skin type and do you use products accordingly? Or do you just pick-out products that are packaged nicely and smell nice?
If you cleanse your face and wait for an hour, use a single ply tissue and dab it on different area’s of your face. If you notice oily spots, your skin is most likely ‘oily’. If you see any flakiness or if your face feels ‘tight’ it’s most likely ‘dry’. If you are prone to shone around your t-zone it’s normal.
Oily skin often has large pores, acne
Dry skin has smaller pores.
It’s important to use products meant for our skin types, for combination skin you should ideally use two different products.
my skin is v dry n i use products according to my skin type.........hey you are very expert can you suggest me any products so that i can check whether i m using the right products or not...........or its just in my mind that i m using right product...........
My skin used to be very dry. Now it is dry/normal... however, I prefer using products aimed at "normal" skin as I find my skin absorbs these better. I don't really like cream based cleansers or face washes..... I prefer gel based ones - like the squeaky clean feel. Usually use the facial puff thingy (very technical term) from THe Body Shop with it as like (gently) exfoliating daily.... No visible pores at all (not bragging guys... :) )
Use rose water as a toner (best thing EVER) and, while skin is still a bit wet, use a facial cream aimed at normal skin.... voila... nice, soft, smooth skin!! :)
i hv also dry skin n i can nt and can nt survive wid out the products made for dry skin...i like cream based face washes n clinique's 7 day scrub cream formula...but very rare i hv to come across some break out n i believe it happens bcuz of over use of moisturizers or cream based washes ect but if i stop using them then i cannt apply any foundation as dry flakes appear n reappear make prblm for any makeup to absorb smoothly...
i have combination skin but i use moisturizer nd cleaner for sensitive and dry skin during winters and normal skin during summers. Dont know if its the right thing but it works quite ok,,
I have oily skin, I have to take care of it else it breaks out easily :(
I have the open pores problem, they are getting more noticeable now that I'm pregnant booohooo someone help.... how do I get rid of these open pores?
^Always use cold water to wash face, it helps shrink the pores. Chilled rose water, ice packs after steaming or even cooking etc help as well.
I have combination skin and usually use either Neutrogena with Salicylic acid or Olay regenerist with SA- Alhamdulillah no breakouts. Rose water for toning and grassroots vit c moisturizer.
i have normal to (somewhat) dry skin, no visible pores
never had problem with acne
but over the past year i've started breaking out
i dont know wht to do cos most remedies of acne, focus on cutting out the oil, n i DONT have oil skin :/
also after getting my eyebrows threaded
no matter wht i do (wash tone)
my forehead get these nasty pimples
I wash my face with Aveeno Positively Radiant Facewash every morning. Since my skin is so dry, I feel like this helps keeps my face looking fresh.
I immediately moisturize using Olay Complete Defense for dry skin with spf 30. This is a great everyday lotion ...the sunscreen absorbs really well into your skin and doesn't leave it oily. I find that it kinda works like a base for my foundation as well which is a convenient 2 in 1. :)
I use Apricot Scrub - Renew & Firm every night. This is great for exfoliating dry skin (which I seem to have a lot of especially in the winter weather). I use this kind as opposed to the regular because the gentle alpha hydroxy gives it an extra oomph in the exfoliating department. I have noticed a more positive change since I switched over to this kind as opposed to regular Apricot Scrub.
After I wash my face for the night - I rub a little bit of vaseline around my eyes, forehead, and mouth area (these are the driest parts of my face). This was recommended by my dermatologist. Supposed to help prevent dry skin (which I have noticed) and also help prevent wrinkles. :)
I don't really have any noticeable pores nor do I really break out. My biggest issues with my skin was the dryiness and discoloration (which I am sure is due to the dryness). But this face maintenance of mine has helped me drastically Alhumdullilah. InshAllah I want to start using rose water as a toner as well just because I have heard such wonderful things about it.

Pore refining masks once a week MIA! Splash chilled water or chilled rosewater several times a day.
It took me so long to find products that worked well on my skin. I have combination skin sigh
I've acne-prone combination skin that is sensitive at the same time. I use AHA or BHA based cleanser, rose water as a toner, and cetaphil lotion to moisturize. To deal with the zit issue, I use Retinol, Tazorac, and glycolic acid based lotion on alternate nights. Strong stuff but this is what works for me.
even though i have an oily acne prone skin, i sometimes buy products for sensitive skin since i don't want to exacerbate the acne and i find the sensitive skin products mild enough for me. other than that it's products tailored for oily/acne prone skin. never for dry skin.
acne prone combination skin..and its soo sensetive so i use cetaphil cleanser, rose water as toner and dove moisturiser...and still causing breakouts...gina help! :$
