Your Reading Habit!!

Since media has been so advance that we don’t need to grab a book and we almost find anything to read on internet than in Books. Not only that but the E-books are also there in our Smartphones Apps that we can use that too or a tablet or anything.. what opinions do you hold about this??

Is it better or reading from Books was far better? I know, still a lot of people read from the Books but I must say it has effected somewhere too…
What is the use of libraries when most of the people can get their matter on just one click??

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

Nothing beats a real book. I find it also more soothing for my eyes to read from paperwork than from screens.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

^Agree. I love going to the library. It’s a delicious feeling to curl up with a good book; has its own charm. It’s a different feel than reading from a screen.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

yup, I too hate to read online, it disturbs my sight :bummer:

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

I prefer the feel and smell of a real book, I love being able to hold it in my hands and being able to physically turn the page. A real book is a far better feeling (also easier on the eyes) than an ebook

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

To be honest, I have downloaded more than 100 books, but never ever able to finish those soft copies. Hard copies are preferable.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

real books all the way! sometimes when i can’t be bothered to wait a few days when ordering from online, i just download a book on to my phone which is difficult to read but i make do. i’m being coerced into buying a kindle :disgust: but still.. real books have their own specialness <3

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

i’m all for ebooks - especially for pulp fiction kinds. if its something special and worth owning forever, then a hardcopy isn’t a bad idea. but read once kind of books - just too bulky, expensive, bad for the environment, takes up space - ebooks are so much more practical.

and libraries are learning - the past year, more than half the books i read have been ebooks from the public library.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

Yeah, personally I would prefer a book over a computer or tablet too… but I think… Its just Novels or Stories for which we feel like going to library.. if we have any questions, we require any totkay… we want any solutions to our daily life problem, most of us prefer using internet and that was a basic point.. If I keep in mind my father’s Library.. (a small section built in our house).. I see a range of books there, from Islamic to history… from Novels to encyclopedias… From poetry to Biography.. from Recipe books to Comic books… and not what… But I dont think that people are now used to buy a lot of books on different topics… just because of internet availability !! and buying book is not much in action..!!

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

the internet rarely has anything comprehensive or in a curated fashion. if you need to get trustworthy info in depth about anything, libraries and books it is even today.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

^true.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

Nothing beats a real book but I love the convenience of ebooks. I’ve read SO many this past year! Loveee it.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

I love books! .. I cannot get my head around reading stuff online, let alone an E-book. I like paper in my hand..

Summer vacation right now, waiting for the and the mountains echoed, anyone read it?

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

You can’t say that no one buys or reads real books any more. Not atleast about me. Just last week, I bought two novels from a passing by teen dabbay wala at the hefty price of PKR 20 each :smokin:. Have finished one of them. David Baldacci’s “Absolute Power”. Was a gripping read through and through. The other one’s Donna Tartt’s “Secret History”. Will read it soon.

Screen’s are good, but real books are the real deal.

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

wow teen dabbe wale ke liye half roll ka to intezaam ho gaya.

PS: books seems interesting. Let me search them on internet :halo:

Re: Your Reading Habit!!

Go on. Don’t ask for my permission. I have no objection whatsoever. :smokin:
