Your preparations for Jummah

Most of us wait all year round for Ramadan to arrive, especially the bari/taak raatein. However, what we forget it is every week, we have a bari raat to get blessings- Jummah. Often we don’t realize the significance of it but if we did, we really would be doing ourselves a huge favor.

Do you do anything special for Jummah? Besides getting happy that weekend has arrived, I mean =) Religiously, what are your preps? Starting ibaadat on Thursday night after maghrib? Reading Surah Kahf? Making sure to go for Jummah namaz? Doing durood shareef and tasbeeh?

Let’s discuss some beneficial things to make part of our Jummahs so it can be productive for all of us. For instance, at the masjid today, the Imam reminded us to do Surah Kahf- Allah swt lights up a noor for you from this Jummah till the next one in return. Also, doing durood, and lots of tasbeeh, one being: Allah humma a’jarni minnannaar, meaning O’Allah, please save me from the hellfire.

What else?

The "special" things I try to do for Jummah are reading Surah Kahf and there's this durood I try to recite after Asr 80 times.

Re: Your preparations for Jummah

Well as this auspicious event of Miraaj Shareef is approaching today. why not we all make a pact and make to niyat to Pray 5 Times a Day rather that skipping five prayers for 7days then prepare for Jummah .. Wouldnt it be great if we prayed 5 times so when Jummah came .. it would be like a cherry on the top an icing on the cake ..:D

Who said anything about skipping 34 salaats in the week and then making only Jummah?

Re: Your preparations for Jummah

^^ no one said .. but it needed to be said as a ‘Note’ on the side for this thread .because I personally have come accross many individuals who DO actually skip 34 and are there for Jummah ..

ok they maybe praying at home .. but Its not the same as Praying with Jamat like Jummah ..:hmmm:

Re: Your preparations for Jummah

Read sunnats at home then march to Masjid and read namaz with jummat.

Then come home and recite surrah al Jummah.
