Your own thing

So how possessive are you about sharing recipes for something new and innovative? I don’t like sharing recipes if I know it’s something special. My mom on the other hand, you just have to ask her nicely, once, and she’d be willing to make you 10 copies of the recipe (ok I might have exaggerated it a bit). Thing is, later on we find out that the person passes off that recipe as their own brilliant thing. They never credit it back to us. Or even mention that “keh hum nay us dun falan falan cheez banayi thi, buhat achi bani and we thought of you”. And I haaaaaaaate it! I really really do. That’s just wrong. The flip side of it is that even if my mom was to cook something or use a totka that someone else has taught her years down teh road, she will still think of that person and mention it that so and so told her how to do this.

I know there are some people (goras for example) that don’t like it…hello why else would we have the colonel’s secret blend of 21 spices. But is anyone else weird about sharing recipes like me?

Re: Your own thing

not me .... I share every recipe I create or know about ... even if they dont credit it back to me ... Coz I feel , we can all copy KFC , but it will still not taste 100% like that KFC ....

As they say , her ka haat different hota hai bi ... I know my mom makes the worlds perfect koftay and yet every time i have tried her recipe , its not exactly the same ....
