Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Alternative was almost unleashed when Air Canada was basically not flying out of Heathrow. But there were other people yelling for me, and I felt bad for the guys who had to give us the bad news. But that’s another story for another thread :hehe:

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Note to self: Time for 'Another thread'.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Yes PP SEL rating! however it is kinda expensive to keep it current, so have not flown in three years :(

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Similar to Ess Emm, my husband was upgraded to business on United while flying back from Lima after a long hike in Machu Pichu. We've gotten upgraded in flights within the U.S. before, but he was grateful beyond words to get the upgrade during such a long flight after the hike.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

my husband is CFI

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

My most amazing experience was back in 2001. Flying to New York and left Lahore on the morning of September 11th (of course it was still September 10th in NY). We ended up having to be rerouted to Newfoundland, Canada for a few days. Nobody knew anything until we landed though the pilots did...but they didn't tell the cabin.

sigh the world was never the same again....I call it the day the 90s officially died. September 11th 2001. :(

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

We were upgraded to business class for our 6 hr trip to Miami for our honeymoon and then again got upgraded at the hotel to a suite, the per night cost of which was 900$. I guess just saying honey moon has an effect on people :cb:.

Another time I remember was on my travel from NYC to Karachi using PIA in 2007. Me and my brother booked our seats for early January which was off season as people were returning at that time and the flight was so empty that we slept during the whole flight on the middle seats in separate rows.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

I’ve heard people get booked up to business/first class, or to a better room if they mention it’s for their honeymoon. It really happen?

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

My husband still tries the honeymoon line every where whenever we are on vacation and sometimes it does work despite the fact that we have been married for 2 years now:wub:

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Haha that’s awesome and adorable!

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Yes the day that will live in Infamy, I was driving to work that day in Seattle around 6:00am Pacific Time it was 9:00 am NY the news broke on the Radio, however I noticed the Truck Driver who I could see in the next lane had also heard the plane crash into the World Trade Center and he was shouting and giving the thumbs up to what had happened! seems the Teamsters had protested against World Trade Organization in Seattle a few years earlier, he was probably confused.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

I remember Spending 8 hours at peshawar Airport in early 90's for delayed flight where I could have reached islamabad by car in 2 hours.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

My most amazing flight experience was cool …

Going from London to Kuala Lumpur no problem … actually my first time in Business Class (14 hours)
Then on my return flight … London, actually most of Europe was covered in snow - we saw the satellite photos … amazing.

After 13.5 hours of flight from KL to London in Business Class again (of course my return flight) We hovered over London but could not land … We were diverted to Frankfurt … we landed and we were driven over to a hotel in Darmstadt … I was there for an addition 3 days … Hotel covered and got to see the local Christmas market … it is famous .. I made friends with the undercover security guard person - he happened to be the husband of one of the stewardesses too …

Then I travelled back to the UK … eventually … on Business again :hehe: got to Heathrow …

No car hires … !!!

So I bummed my way on a few trains and then on a bus and got home … with a suitcase and two big bags …

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

I once saw two sunrises on a flight. Don't remember what route I was flying, probably Tokyo to Bangkok. Sun came up as we were taking off, and then it became dark. An hour or so later, there was another sunrise. It was surreal.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

The ChristKindl Market is held here around Christmas time too.

Going into the cockpit with mom and sisters :) PIA flight. 1990s.

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

Actually it was ... They have decent flights ... Albeit these days with all those recent issues ... :(

Re: Your most amazing Air Travel incident/experience!

amazing can be scary or unusual too right?

planes engine caught fire and it had to turn around..had to do a a very rough emergency landing ..this was when i was a kid, I did not even know what was going on unit much later. crafty parents and airline kept it pretty sane

plane lost all power for a couple of seconds...this was a few years ago... I probably broke all records of duaas and commitments per nanosecond.
