A trick I learnt to get more control and cleaner line is to keep your EYES OPEN while applying the eyeliner.

Most people tend to close their eyes and end up with squigly lines. Also always use short ,thin strokes and apply like a connect the dots rather than one single stroke and then build the line.

Also to get the winged look rather than what most girls do i.e stretch the outer edge of the eye lid , just start backwards and make a small V at the outer edge and fill it in so you can control the thickness and length of the “wing”
