I am re-evaluating the one I currently have (Olay for all normal/combination) because recently I am experiencing dryness no matter how much of the cream I use, a few hours later it will dry out. Maybe it has to do with my eating habits of late, hmm? On hindsight I am generally experiencing a dry skin all over when I have always been a normal, even when I apply a body lotion the skin still looks parched and drained (in all fairness I have kept ill for quite sometime but I want it to change now!)
I find Nivea (the classic) too heavy and since I’m not much of a makeup person I would like to invest in a good-to-skin moisturiser at least. A sudden ‘revelation’ made me realise I need to look after myself and keep up to date with the latest trends
What’s your favourite moisturiser that gives you the oh-so-good-skin?
I was facing a similar situation with my normally oily to normal skin turning quite dry on the cheeks and forehead.
Tried a couple of really expensive moisturizers that were recommended by some friends and found no difference after weeks of use.
Then on a trip to MAC for some other items I mentioned my dry skin and the girl told me to try the following:
Marine Bright Formula Essence/Gel
Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme
I've been using these for about two weeks now and I'm pleasantly surprised.
I've not changed anything in my diet or regime except using these two products twice a day.
You might want to consider them.
MAC are really good about providing samples too so no need to purchase outright unless they work for you.
I am also facing almost same. Skin is going dry and dehydrated. And upper area of lips look dark. Dont knw wt to do? Using loreal hydrafresh but nt satified? Any tip?
Try oils. There are PLENTY to choose from (Argan, Rosehip, Avacado, Almond etc.). They won't make you break out and they're much cheaper than these creams/lotions. Different ones have different texture so try a few and find the one that works best for you. I personally love Argan. There are several others on this board who're huge fans of rosehip.
Only Clinique's Dramatically Different Lotion works on my combination skin - it keeps the dehydrated areas well moisturised and doesn't promote any more oiliness on my cheeks. Although it lasts a long time, it's quite pricey so I'm on the hunt for a cheaper alternative.
I recently picked up Origins Night-A-Mins as my night cream, and I am absolutely in love with the creamsicle/orangey scent! It is perfect for my super dry skin, provides enough moisture without being too greasy. Makes my skin super soft, and I am hoping it would clear away some old acne scarring too.
