Khatija

Love this name as it was the name of the 1st wife of our Prophet (pbuh). She was an intelligent & brave lady. Way back in those times she was doing her own business which even now many many women would be reluctant to do so!

Re: Your Favourite Islamic Female Name

I am just curious...what is the definition of an Islamic name??
Should it essentially be from the Quran or a name of someone famous in Islamic history..?!?!?

Re: Your Favourite Islamic Female Name

^ an islamic name is one with a good, positive meaning. that is all.
muslims come from all over the world, each culture has beautiful names, regardless of whether its desi or not.
for example, my husband is non-desi, so to account for us being a mixed race couple and living in a very mixed-race society, for our future children, we've chosen names that are hebrew, greek, and arab. all have positive meanings, all are beautiful names. done and done.

makes sense.Kinda my thoughts on what an Islamic name can be…
I was just curious as someone mentioned in an earlier post about a few names whether they were “100%” Islamic…??..So just wondering what qualifies a name as 100% Islamic…:hmmm:
