My eldest brother translated this long and tender song/story to us when I was a kid. So it has a special place in my heart :)

Re: your favourite Evergreens/Oldies (black and white or color)

**oh nice to know that...btw, what's ur native language or mother tongue?

i've special memory too...coz...one of my cousins who was the Assistant Director of this movie also played a small role as well. he played small roles in many movies...later, he produced and directed a movie which wasn't a hit and lost a lot of money.**

Interesting - looks like you have some connections in the film industry.

My mathru Bhasha is Tamil. How about yours - Hindi/Urdu? You said Aligarh - so I am guessing urdu?

Re: your favourite Evergreens/Oldies (black and white or color)

**yeah, i had...but NOT now...my uncle was in Bollywood as well and he wrote stories and dialogues for such legendary movies like "chaudhviiN kaa chaand", "saaHib, bibi aur Ghulam", "parvarish", "Jugnu", "Ishara".

with the sudden demise of Guru Dutt, his team suffered a major setback. his team consisted of Guru Dutt, M Sadiq [Director], Ravi [Music Director]...it was a BIG loss!!! :(

yes, my mother tongue is Urdu...i stidied Hindi as well but ONLY at an elementary level and that too ONLY in Grade 10.

Tamil is a great language. i wish i could learn...back in In dia, we had very lil exposure to the language. i had a neighbour who spoke Tamil in his house. :)**

^ Gunghroo ki tarah - watched this song (forget the movie) in theater with bros, mom and her parents. Dont remember anything of the movie - but strangely I can picture this song like yesterday.

Ek Daal par thota bole - cute song
