i heard Nahid Akhtar a few times in the past and i liked her voice...i think her style is similar to that of Asha Bhosle...am i correct?

Even Humaira Abid (Abid Ali’s first wife) used to sing. Humera Channa got a shrill voice, but she rendered famous songs quite well in Brunch with Bushra.

Yes thats true but I like Hadiqa's 'boohay baarian' and 'mannay di mauj'. She can sing very well if she stops experimenting with new styles. I'm not familiar with many new female singers. I absolutely loved Benjamin Sisters in Silver Jubilee. Their song 'mehki fizaaein' is my most favorite! So soothing....
I love her Boohay Baarian and Dupatta Mera Malamal Ka.
I like her Ooo Lala from Ali Zafar's LPNY soundtrack.

Humaira Abid apparently didn’t sing much. I don’t think I have heard her but I know people who talked about her.
Or am I thinking about Mustafa Qureshi’s wife.

Yes you are right Humera Abid just sing on TV (including songs for Dasht directed by Abid Ali). Rubina Qureshi (wife of Mustafa Qureshi) sung few folk songs in 70s. Her song ‘Nangra Nimani da by Sachal Sarmast’ is still popular in Sindh.

Two singers that are promoted a lot by the TV fraternity are Tehseen Javed and Arshad Mahmood.
I don't like Tehseen Javed. He doesn't have any special work to his credit. I don't know why TV people like him so much. Arshad is a little better with a couple good film songs.

Tehseen Javed did some music programs from PTV and became household name many years after these shows by singing 'Dil Ho gaya hai Tera Deevana' in Javed Shaikh's Mushkil.
Arshad Mehmmod is a good singer having songs like 'Dekha jo Chehra Tera' and ' Ho sake to Mera ek kaam karo', but he lacks versatility.

The song was a hit in 90's when it was released :) People like Moin Akhtar promoted the song on various shows.

People does experiments. Bushra is a great actress, but she got a good voice too. Moin Akhtar was talented enough, but singing was not his field.

Male —> Rahat and Nusrat fateh ali, sajad ali, Waqar , shafqat ammant ali and anyat hussain bhatti ooh and ali zafer
