Your favorite Designer !

Re: Your favorite Designer !

My favourite designer is myself. I design and produce world class lunghi's. I have a very high busy client list, however i may b able to squeeze in some time to design an exclusive lunghi for u if u require it.

i had this experience too!! there were very few items in stock of karma and the ones they had were so old.

HSY, Umar Sayeed, Karma, Nilofer Shahid, Faiza Samee, Sonya Batla! I'm so confused! I really don't think i'll ever be able to decide on a wedding dress =(

Re: Your favorite Designer !

^ tell me about it !

interestingly enough, I never had the chance to visit Sonya Batla and Rizwan Beyg in Karachi...did I miss much????

Do they even do bridal wear?

Re: Your favorite Designer !

hey, how about you guys making a list of the websites of these designers you guys are talking of, it will be useful for a lot of people who are just becoming familiar with these designers or those who do not knw that they have websites.

I like Sobia Nazir, Nadia L.,

Re: Your favorite Designer !

^ There’s a whole thread concerning websites, which went up ages ago, but I guess it may need an update perhaps?

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/fashion-beauty/256208-best-designer-websites.html

but how come you didn't go to the karma showroom?

i know people who did go and while they loved it, they said karma bridals were more contemporary than the traditional look they wanted, so in the end they went with lajwanti for the dresses; the bride's sister's gharara was karma and it was luvverly!

Yes but you have to read through the whole thread, which is many pages long. Also it started years ago, and many of the websites on there are no good anymore.

I m going to post the ones I know on a separate thread, just the websites so that if anyone wants to see them they just have to go there.

lajawanti bridals and formals are gorg, i mean, mouth watering, but prices for bridals were 3500lakh for a basic lengha! when i was there they did have one on sale for 1lakh and although it was lovely it was a gharara, which doesnt suit my height! Karma, i felt was dissapointing, there bridals did not have alot of kaam on them - for the prices they were offering.

saw this at the maria b store in lahore, colour and cut of the capri trousers were gorg! Lovely autumn colours x

Re: Your favorite Designer !

If by "Karma showroom" you mean the one in Lahore then I only had a limited amount of time in Pakistan...I now wish I had - looking at the pics of their Lahore showroom, there definitely seems to be a much larger variety to what we saw at "the Designers" in Karachi.

Karma ghararas are definitely lurrvly but as Gina put it above, who do you go to when there is such a vast array of outfits out there???

I've always thought the look of Karma bridal outfits were more traditional than Lajwanti. In fact, the Lajwanti outfits I have seen appear more contemporary than Karma. The embellishments I would say are definitely more traditional in Karma outfit; as to the silhouettes, I would say it's an open verdict...

YUP indeed if u missed Rizwan Beyg u missed a lot! He has such elegant stuff! And yeah Bege's, Lajwanti, Hajra Hayat, Karma, Aeisha Varsey, Sonia Batla, HSY, Umar Sayeed, Nomi, Deepak Perwani, Sadia Mirza, KUKI Concepts, Ahsan Nazir, Amna Kardar! WHO do u chose and what do u wear...!?

Re: Your favorite Designer !

^ i guess you go with your gut? the one that sticks out the most? the one you recall the most? that fits in your budget? and then the hard part begins- not second guessing yourself! :p

ziggy, yeah, i guess thats what they were referring to. they said Karma's evening wear was stunning and well-worth it, but the bridals too contemporary.
the lajwanti stuff they got, and the only lajwanti stuff i've seen, seemed really OTT to me... so i'm guessing perhaps the lack of kaam on Karma that other people have mentioned was what seemed more contemporary to them?
does lajwanti have a website?

someone here was getting a karma outfit... i can't remember who it was or if she got it, but she seemed really pleased with it. if you're that someone, let us know if you've worn it yet and how everything went! :)

i love saadia mirzas stuff but i didnt get to go see it in person in pakistan. my khala had a few suits made by her and they were so pretty!!!

really do u ve any website of ur own,plz post some pics of ur lunghis...

One thing i've learnt is don't go out shopping with too many people! They all have diff opinion's! And they all made me go insane! PF, Saadia Mirza's work is really elegant and ideal for "jahez" dresses =)

SGC, my "gut" loves HSY, Umar Sayeed AND Karma too! And yeah Faiza Samee =(

Re: Your favorite Designer !

^ aawww, gina, lol!
well i'll be in dxb from dubai 6th onwards iA... lets meet up!

ahhhh think I told you SGC abt my Bridal outfit---its Karma and to me contemporary and simple. The "simple" part goes with me, because I really didnt want a very heavy lengha (with my height and stature, it would just look odd). The "contemporary" part is completely opposite of me (as you already know Im a "traditional" girl in dressing). I have yet to wear the outfit--few more months to go......

i agree with that! when i went wedding shopping in pakistan last summer, i took far too many people with me to the point i was going insane with different opinions! im glad i stuck with my gut.
