I could eat tortellini (either stuffed with parmesan cheese or meat or both, I like cheese better) with a thick white sauce, broccoli florets, lots of black pepper, and fesh peas everyday.
And nothing beats the classic spaghetti and meatballs, with a homemade marinara sauce, garlic bread with lots of herbs, and gallons of chocolate milk. I had it once somewhere with this gravy-like sauce, with meatballs and eggs and with this weird kind of pasta. Oh god. I was reduced to rapturous monosyllabic - sooooo goooodddd.

Shrimp Alfredo Burf is a bit heavy on the tummy but totally yummy and easy to make :k:
Buy shrimp and Alfredo sauce and pasta so everything is pretty much ready made and you got dinner in 30 minutes!

my mom makes pasta with cream of mushroom and cream of brocalli soup...its really good..sometimes she adds some white meat chicken to it, and she adds veggies such as shimla mirch/capiscum, brocolli , and mushrooms...as for the actual pasta..dont knwo the name of it, its those big spirally ones....

i grew up on mac n cheese and my taste buds have now developed to the more classier version: fettucine with alfredo sauce mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm totally satisfying. for days when i feel like im too skinny for my own good, i eat some fettucine alfredo with chicken.hehe.

Barfee I don't have any fancy recipe....the way i make it is as follows:
Boil your favourite type the regular way (I normally use macronies) ...drain.
Boil peas...drain
Boil chicken n shred it.
Take a tomato ...cut n blend with some youghart to make a thick paste/sauce
Now in a big pan heat a little oil....add chopped ginger (i like the flavour) add salt pepper n cumin seeds
then add shredded chicken n peas n right after that the youghart, tomato mix you made....let the youghart tomato paste cook for a few minutes n then add pasta...coat well with all the sauce/paste using light hands.... generously sprinkle grated cheese n serve.sometimes i add a capsicum too....you can use mince instead of chicken if you like.
Probably most of you will laugh at my recipe ...but i don't know any other way...n for me the good thing is my kids n hubby LOVE it.

Yo larki, I don't make it (if you make some for me, I'll come to Detroit). You can buy the tortellini (the pasta) from a deli that makes fresh pasta and I think even Safeway has fresh tortellini. I don't know how the sauce is made and the veggies prepared either. Anytime I've tried to make a white sauce (I hate alfredo), I've used milk, chicken stock, and flour. Or you can try butter, sautee veggies and garlic etc in there, and then put cream in it. As you can see, I don't know, I just eat it. Now please tell me when to book my ticket. I alsom want to try the chicken pasta you put up in another thread. Thanks.

this is a neat and unique recipe Afia - pasta the desi way! I will have to try it out :-)

Mmmm. Actually that must taste very good cos I love to put lots of ketchup and yoghurt over my pasta and that tastes darn good too. Must try.

I once did and my brother said you put pasta in karhi but i might have desified it too much. But it tasted good.
I don't have any specific pasta recipie, i just play with ingredients i have at home.

You can always do the simple shrimp in garlic + pasta recipe.
Cook the shrimp in some garlic and light butter. Add some parsely and basil to the mix. You can even throw in some tomatoes if you want. Toss with some well-drained el-dente spaghetti. It actually tastes incredible, and you don't even have to worry about the cholestrol that much because you've cooked the shrimps in garlic. You can also add a cup of green tea to the meal if you have cholestrol issues, or if you're at risk.
