Your family is the root cause of corruption in Pakistan

…with my super amazing opinion forming skills, I have come to the conclusion that if you are middle Middle Class and beyond in Pakistan then your father and mothers are corrupt and don’t practice what they preach. they are horrible folks. Why? Because corruption starts from them.

I’ll give you an example. A friends mamoo (a middle middle class man) was going back to Karachi from Chicago. The mamoo’s flight reached karachi at 1am. He was inconvenienced by the fact, and called his friend who was also a middle class police employee. After the mamoo spoke on the phone, he proudly announced, that his friend is sending two police men to escort him to his house since he is coming so late, and they will give him a ride to his house in an official police car. Also, his parked car at the airport would be driven by a third policeman to his house. I have heard people abusing PUBLIC things in pakistan for personal use but this was way too close for comfort.

I went home thinking that these three policemen could have been used for policing and patroling the city, but they were instead being used a favor for a friend. This kind of thing happens all the time and I have seen or heard it. But witnessing this was wayyyyy to close for comfort.

This country can’t go anywhere until your moms and dad’s learn to respect the country. Everyone is guilty of this. So the next time you see your parents, brother or anyone in your family doing something small like this, it’s still illegal. Stop them from doing it. It’ll be a start.

Re: Your family is the root cause of corruption in Pakistan

Much of the same what I said in the other thread in PA. One thing though, I have even seen the very young ones following the same footsteps as their seniors.

But I disagree when you say it is only the middle class. I would not classify people holding senior government positions as middle class.

And most of the times these people do not even have a clue what they are doing is WRONG & UNETHICAL. This is what happens when you do not provide the much needed moral education and teach a sense of right and wrong in children at home or school. They learn from their surroundings. Mostly these are the people who have not had exposure to any other environment than Pakistani. And economic conditions further deteriorating due to unemployment because of business closures, major industries destorying due to load shedding, nation being put under much more heavier burden of debts through huge IMF loans isnt making things any better for the people of Pakistan. That's what their plan is.............. make the nation hopelessly poor, so rise in corruption would dissolve this country's law & order much faster. That's exactly what is happening

I think the responsibility is of both parents & teachers. They share this responsibility. Integral requirement of children's upbringing.

EXACTLY....

corruption in politics doesn't come from a vacuum. the middle class of Pakistan that loves to play victim is also corrupt.

I agree with you 99%( I just don't agree with the middle class...the wealthy start the corruption IMHO- just look at zardari, musharrah, or any PM of pakistan!!!! This kind of stuff starts from within....if we can just remind each of your own relatives to clean up after selves, even if it's just as simple as telling your relatives not just throw trash on the streets of karachi, respectfully can show so much respect for Pakistan or even to Islam!

I didn't mean just the middle class. The middle class and everything above them is corrupt. Probably my own relatives too. I'm scared to go back with this mindset. I'd be super duper upset when i see this stuff upfront, even if it would make my life easier their.
