Did you ever advertise something in it ?
Did you ever responded to an ad in it ?
What was it about ?
re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Short of meeting my hubby, I've used Craigslist for everything. For at least 50% of the times I've moved, I've used CL to find my next apartment. I bought a coffee table and sold a sofa and camera through CL. Hired a plumber, electrician, and movers each time I moved, through CL. Let's see... what else? Found part-time and full-time jobs and headhunters through CL, and also sold and bought cars through CL.
LOL. As you can see, I use it for everything. I would say, for the most part, I've had good experiences using CL. You have to be alert and cautious. When selling an item, I took down the person's name, phone number, etc, and had someone with me when meeting the person or met at a completely public place. CL is great for finding a good deal, but I must repeat, caution is key.

Thanks for sharing . I want to use it to find a couple of matures and serious working partners with Internet development skills and marketing experience specially to college students. I am not looking for any kind of investment from them just time commitment. I want some locals from my city so that we could meet daily for planning and to monitor the daily progress.
Any thoughts about this approach of mine ?

It is my first encounter with Craigslist. So help me understand . I saw and noticed that they charge for certain cities.
Now if I place an ad for Charlotte, NC any kind of ad there will be no charge ? It will be free ?
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
I've used it a lot!
I sold most of my stuff when we were moving via Craigslist, once bought a used car from there, our current home rental, hubby's PDA, accordion and harmonium all went via Craigslist!!!
A couple of years back, I'd been transferred to NJ office in Princeton. I used Craigs list as my prime source to search for someone advertising for room mates. And I got it very quickly and at a very reasonable price. That is really very handy.

Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Mirch... so you are looking to post a for an available job? My advice would be that you clearly list what requirements are needed, what the job responsibilities will entail, and a vague salary range, or if it's volunteer work, do state that. And if it's volunteer work, you should also post under the community/volunteer section. If you are worried about attachments containing a virus, ask that the resume be included in the email, and not sent as an attachment. I do not know if there's a charge when you're hiring, although some major cities now do have that $25 charge. Do a trial run, and you'll find out.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
I think there might be a charge for job postings.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Hey Mirch! CL is a great forum for buying, selling, advertising and classifieds. Its widely recognized and used by many people. I have had a lots of CL success stories, both with buying, selling and even job classifieds.
There are some cities that charge for job classifieds as those sections were frequently spammed with illegitimate postings and were ultimately meant to scam unsuspecting people. Also, CL probably saw it as a great way to generate some money. I think CL is a smart tool to use to find an employee because it is visited by so many people on a frequent basis. Unlike Monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder, etc CL is used by tons of people who many not necessarily be in the job market but are just poking around. No problem, that is more exposure for your listing!
Anyway, I say, give it a shot! Write a very specific post as **syani1 **mentioned. I'm sure a lot of us here who are familar with CL wouldn't mind you sending the text over, perhaps on this thread or via PM, to proof for you.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Love CL. Ive gotten job offers off of CL, apartments, etc.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Used CL for selling old things sitting in the basement and the garage. Sold older cell phones, T.V
Never really bought anything yet
Oh also found pretty good baby sitters when needed
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
I only go there to see if someone's posted a "missed connection" for me.

Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
I like craigslist, it's fairly simple and convenient. The best part is, it's in town and you don't have to pay and/or wait for the shipment.
I've purchased a few things on it in the past, and it's been smooth sailing.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Love Craigslist! but have had mixed results. Great for finding apartments, selling furniture, but not so great for finding jobs, selling clothes etc.
Re: Your experience with Criagslist.
Just sold my bike in craigslist, which I had initially had bought off craigslist also.
