I was banking on a Friday Eid for an additional day off from work.

To me it was a great weekend after a long while. I worked from home thursday i.e. the day before Eid. By the night we came to know that moon is sighted so its gonna be one Eid across entire US so it was a g reat news to hear. Eid day we spent very casually. Like Namaz, visit to Qabrustan etc. In evening my sister from out of town came over with family so that was exciting too.
SEcond day, Saturday, was the major joint family Eid party so it was a lot of fun. Played cricket in evening and at night everyone of us went out to see Jurassic world. Paid some visits to relatives on Sunday as well. So yes after a long while it was 3 day Eid celebration and a really good one :k:
