Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

Oil oozing skin prone to break-outs, in fact I’ve been battling acne for the last 7 years and nothing worked till I tried Pro-active. I’ve been using it for the past one year and I get one odd zit (MashaAllah considering wht I had to ‘face’ earlier :p) which is taken care of by the sulphur mask in the proactive range.

With pro-active range, its not just the individual products but also the the idea of sticking to a strict regime which has helped me a lot. But sadly my supply is about to run out and I’m looking for easily available(in India) substitutes so that I don’t have to trouble my Mamu in US to send over another carton load of Pro-active. So basically I’m looking for:

  1. A non-foaming exfoliating cream cleanser, gentle enough to be used daily and non-drying.
  2. An alcohol free toner, preferably with glycolic acid (that’s wht the proactive toner has! not salicylic acid but glycolic acid and believe me it makes hell lota difference!)

My dupe for Pro-active’s repairing lotion is the neutrogena oil-free moisturiser mixed with drugstore 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cream  works just as well, and I’d recommend this trick to those suffering from acne, It nourishes and treats in a single step!

I use a separate mattifier, revlon touch and glow instant fairness and mattifying cream, its OK…I use it only because there is no other option here in India when it comes to mattifying creams :disgust:

I’m now considering adding night cream and eye cream to my regime but cannot find anything suitable for my oily skin, the ones which are suitable are not available :naraz:

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

I have very oily acne prone skin. I wash my face every morning and night with Murad's Clarifying Cleanser, moisturize with Aveeno, then apply Retin-A to my spots.

Your Current Skincare Routine.

I use St Ives apricot scrub every other day. And a ponds face wash on the alternative days. Then I use simple moisturiser.

THAT'S IT! Sometimes I'll use like a tea tree mask or some other mud mask. I did try using rose water and glycerine toner but it made me break out. Other than that I don't like using too much products because I'm lazy and also I'm perfectly happy with my skin. Yeah I'll get the odd spot in a blue moon but nothing that bothers me. I think that's why I don't break out - because I'm not stressing over that tiny spot :)

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

because you are missing one ingredient “oats” i told you to mix that as well
plus put saada dahi as a mask on your face (wash your face put tha yogurt mask for 20mins and then rinse off with warm water and then with cold water dont use towel/tissue let it dry itself then spray rose water, your face will thankyo for this )you can also add 2-3 drops of fresh squeezed lemon

  • avoid yogurt if you have oily skin or test on a small patch of your face first
you can use this thrice in a week *for better results do this at night before going to bed and let me know the results as well ..

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

I have oily pimple prone skin as well. And the garmi these days is making it impossible for me to apply a moisturiser or cream.

I wash my face with Pond's deep cleansing facial foam. Usually i apply a herbal cream, which is Kalonji based n has made a lot of difference to my skin.

Before i go to sleep,i clean my face an apply herbal Astringent by VLCC,which controls the oil secretion, decreases d numbr of pimples,as well as helps erase pimples without leaving marks,Alhumdulillah!

I would suggest astringent if u hv pimples n u dont want them to leave any mrks on ur face,bt the pimple takes abt a week to disappear.

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

can anyone suggest a really really nice Hand cream? i use Bath and Body works' lotions, but I am not really satisfied with the results..i want something to make my hands softer n more supple!

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

^ nivea is good!

Re: Your Current Skincare Routine.

aquarian - Use a cream with a decent % of urea at night. Usually foot creams have urea but they are still just creams for dry skin.
