As an Event Manager i always seek for some nice background tracks which keeps the party alive.

i'd say look into Mogwai, and God is an Astronaut, keep the volume low, to make it sound like ambient.

Go look at Latin dance music. Its super lively.

Maybe ask what kind of music the couple (or whoever is paying for the entertainment) likes, and if there are any specific bands or songs, instrumentals for that?
Also, why does the music have to be blasted, so much so that you can't hear the other person speaking? The music is supposed to stay in the background, not be the main center stage.
