Anyone had any moments of fame? Been on tv, in a newspaper, been published, filmed etc etc? Share yer storieeeeeeeeees.
I haven’t had anything…YET. I know plenty of people who’ve managed to get into the news (no, not Crimewatch ) for various reasons though. Like, my eldest sister wrote an article which made it to the NY Times. Awesome (although it did make me jalous)
I’ve written a story for kids that I’ve sent out to literary agents in the hopes of getting it published. I need to get back on track with that…I’ve taken a shamefully long break from it. When it was in the rough draft stage, I got positive feedback from the marketing agent of well known pub. Company. I was on cloud none with the feedback. Revised it since then…got shot down by lit agents…sniff…then caught up in schoolwork..n slacked off. I need to get back to my literary ambitions. Hoping it’ll one day be my 15 mins. of fame. :hinna:
DO ITTTTTTTTT
I’ve always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl, and I keep writing down drafts and ideas and never getting around to it. Shameful laziness, I know
My sister’s NY article and the fact that her daughter wrote a short story (she’s about 8) and even got that published in a short story book…means I need to get my bum in gear now
Did a tv show once when I was around 5 or 6..when the only channel was PTV..it was a poem ‘Billo ka basta’ and I was Billo:aisha: whose basta was filled with all sorts of crap except books:rotfl: Maya khan was the host of that show..aah I still remember the recording session when they asked me to just move my lips and not sing the poem out loud:teary1: cause I was singing not only my part but my teacher’s part aswell:cb: so after two three cuts the darn lady said stop singing or that cameraman bhao would scold u lol:omg: although I stopped singing but I kept on thinking ‘I am not afraid of that cameraman who does he think he is?’ lol I was aggressive since birth:hehe:
Later I was offered alot of children plays (both urdu and sindhi) but my parents refused.
Iv been on Bang-e-dara(faisal qureshi’s tv one show) 2years ago on 14th aug
I was offered shoot modeling by two angencies..was offered a vj show by one music channel..and one shampoo add..
All this was 3years ago but my parents never allowed this kinda fame:@:
I was in an open university drama for an english play as a child in pakistan, on channel 4 for the student protests (hell yeaaaaaaah) and erm was a radio DJ at our local community radio thing. Oh and I was on the panel for a debate on telly for Ummah channel a few months ago, I thought I was going to be in the audience and realised it was like me and another guy, daunting would be an understatement.
Autographs are available, at a price ;)
Ooh I forget, local newspapers and stuff for exam results and being part of random outreach groups. Don't you just love being a Z star celebrity?
I keep remembering things, made the front page of a news paper for the protests as well. A hijabi protestor tends to draw crowds me thinks.

Haha that is incredible! I recall saying something embarrassing that everyone joked about for the rest of that year but my selective memory comes in handy in times like these!
Next stop Big Brother and then the world is my oyster!
I got only 2-3 seconds, when dhoni hit 50 in the match in which sachin scored 200* against SA in Gwalior:D. then I downloaded that match and took snapshot of that photo to use as wall paper:D
Yeah my elbow appeared in a frame while lining up as an extra. Since then I have been approached many times for my precious elbows...as its neither too pointy nor too thick, a rarity!
