It doesn't matter if he is in your elite list either; most neutrals and cricketing pundits also who would not put him in the same league as the other best batsmen in the World today.

You do understand that Lara, Tendi, Ponting etc beling to a different class and not every player have that caliber. So basically you mean that rest of the players are dummy players???
Younis does not belong to the class of Lara, ponting or Tendi but currently definitely holds a spot in the league which comes after that and until Pakistan cricket provides a batsman of top class, Younis Khan is our elite player, whether you like it or not.

Did I state they were dummys......?
I named other players in the list apart from Tendulkar, Ponting and did not even mention Lara who is now longer playing the game for your information.
Apart from these players there are other World batsmen which I did not mention who are better than your dummy Younis Khan.

His stats tell you everything about Younis Khan. He is what he is. Who gives a hoot about your list?

Who cares about what you say........
^ aankhain khol kay aik dafa phir mutaaliya farmaaye.
I love the guy, so I'm wondering why hes so hated.... and I have no doubt in my mind that hes a great test player, AND a great one day player, but his record in the ODI's isnt excellent overall... the 'start' of something great is his current form.
I hope I've managed to simplify it for you.
simplify ka shukria, ab simplify ka jhonka chala hay to mai bhi kar daaaloon simplify: you recognize that his ODI record is not great and said about "start of something", I meant to suggest that he wasn't great ODI player in past but this "start" if continued for some good time then he will be recognized as "great" ODI player by everyone else too.
Who cares about what you say........
Exactly, who cares about what YOU say too, isn't it :).
BTW, what is YOUR criteria of a player being "great"?

You did say that Younis is dummy. A guy who has an average of 50+ in test matches during the last 2 years and an avearge of 40+ in ODIs during the same time period. Not to forget, the guy has won us severl matches. If this guy is a dummy then offcourse all the good batsmen should be dummy in your view.
However I do understand that any logic will not work with you when it comes to Pakistan players simply because your hatred for them is far more superior than facts and figures. I realized this thing long time ago and since then tried not to argue with you but just couldn't resist today :)
I dont understand why he's still such a hated player. I mean fine, everyone has their own flaws and he can be a bit of a drama queen, but hes a great batsman and has proven himself a few times at the test stage but some people are still not convinced... To me, hes a solid ODI and test player and has nothing more to prove.... but I hope he can shut his critics' mouths by maintaining this current form and take it to the bigger fish too.
Younis Khan is one of my favorite players - on and off the field, reminds me a lot of Dravid, if anything a bit more likeable. I thought he should have been made Pakistan captain, not Malik - could have been a great leader. But then, he himself reject the opportunity - still baffled by that, as I am by his other occasional bouts of dramebaazi.
Re: Younis Khan
I would take him over Tendulkar (choker) and Kallis (one dayers only) any day of any freakin' decade. Sorry Rock, gotta disagree with you on this one.

Yes I did say Younis Khan is a dummy.
Do you want to know the reason why I call him a dummy? Well I will tell you, simply because the way he has been reacting each time he was given the chance to lead the jokers+chokers.
Do you know what I mean Harry?
Do you understand that or not / is that clear to you or not? If not come back and I will explain to you further...........

Must be in jokes section.
Don’t you rely your arguments on stats / averages? I think you do and don’t tell me you don’t and I will refresh your memory:
Do you know what Tendulkar has achieved in both tests and ODI’s ? I am sure you do and I don’t need to give you the details.
As far as Kallis is concerned, again have you checked his average tests and **ODI record? **If you haven’t than I will give both the tests and ODI details:
Tests: 119 Matches, 100=30, 50=47, Average=57.14
This is better than anything the current jokers / super stars and better than the so called legends Pakistan has produced.
ODI’s: 274 Matches, 100=16, 50=65, Average=45.21
Source: Cricinfo
Yeah man, 16 hundreds in ODI’s and 30 hundreds in tests.
Is this record impressive and better than the dummy Khan?
Most neutrals would have Kallis and Tendulkar in their World XI way ahead of Mr Younis (example being World XI which played Australia few years ago, picked Kallis in tests and ODI’s. I did not pick them the selectors did).
Therefore, Kallis over dummy Khan any day…no questions about it.

Kallis hammering the so called best bowling attack in the World in their own backyard.
:shoaby::shoaby:
*I did mention Kallis over Younis in test matches, but there is no way in hell I am taking Tenchoker over Younis in any format of the game. I have seen enough chokes from Mr. superstar in my lifetime to not rate him at all. Just like you have your distorted personal opinions about Pakistani players, I tend to treat overrated Indian players like Choker, Yuvraj, etc the same way.
Kallis over Younis in ODI any day; not because of his batting but also as an all round better player than Mr Younis.
Reagardless of whether my opinions about jokers are distorted or not; you admit your opinions are also the same and distorted about other players???
Bascically what you are saying is that Younis Khan is better than Tendulkar? Is that distoreted or not? If thats the case than it’s another one for the jokes section.

As the discussion seems to be essentially about Kallis v Younis, let me just say this. Kallis](http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/45789.html) is a better overall player (stats do not lie) but he is not a particularly exciting player to watch. He is a solid player no doubt but he is rather boring to watch. He usu. bides his time and is a slow starter; his strike rate (SR = Runs per100 balls) in tests (43.96!!) and ODIs (71.35…70+ SR in ODIs is ok given he is an innings-builder rather than a compulsive stroke-maker who bats in the middle overs) is not particularly high. He is not someone I would pay to watch.
Younis](http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/43652.html) is better as far as SR is concerned (53.76 in tests and 77.07 in ODIs)
Most good test batsmen have a SR of 50+. Check here](http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/content/records/223646.html)
Lara had a particularly high test SR of 60.51…Hayden and Ponting’s test SR are 60.12 and 59.04 respectively. Gilchrist was an exception - Test batting SR of 81.95!! …most batsmen will be proud to have that SR in ODIs!!
Another thing is, Kallis like his team tends to choke in big games
Most recent Kallis chokes
- 5 v Australia (bowled by McGrath) WC Semi Final 2007, the whole team choked for 149
- 16 v WI - ICC Champions’ Trophy Semi Final 2006
And R_E, 15 hundreds in 58 tests is just as good as 30 in 119 tests. Remember Younis only (became a regular member of the side +) really started performing consistently in 2004/5. If he continues his present form and plays for another 5 or 6 years he should end up somewhere near 8 or 9,000 test runs. And there is no reason why he can’t push his current test average of 49.14 into the fifties. The only thing perhaps that could stop him from achieving all that is the no. of tests we are getting at the moment. We don’t play enough test cricket as it is compared to most other test countries and we are also losing out on a lot of home tests because of teams’ (esp. Australia, England and NZ) concerns about security situation in Pakistan. The way Younis is currently batting his ODI average of 33.91 should also continue to improve.
Bascically what you are saying is that Younis Khan is better than Tendulkar? Is that distoreted or not? If thats the case than it's another one for the jokes section.
*Firstly Rock, I thought we were beyond the stage where we would have to use numberless smileys to make a point amongst ourselves. Anyways, all I am saying is that Tendulkar is a choker, so I will never include him in any side over the likes of Younis (gutsy players who make up for limited talent with hard work and willpower). Second, your point about Kallis' bowling is fine, but I feel he lost the zip in his bowling quite a while ago, and I would prefer Younis the ODI batsman over Kallis the ODI batsman (both are equally good fielders).
And please, no more hundreds of idiotic smilies in an effort (weak one, mind you) to make a point. We can do just fine without them. I wasn't born yesterday, as far as cricketing discussions are concerned, so avoid "joke of the century" posts. Cheers.*

you can't even back up your own views. Its really not worth wasting time on you.

Firstly, no ‘idiotic smiles’ for you as you may be weak at accepting such things and I know you are not a baby (‘not born yesterday’) so you shouldn’t have had a problem with them.
So you do admit Mr Younis Khan is a limited player? That’s cool and I always felt the same about him a 'limited player'.
Again, I would strongly disagree with you having Younis over Kallis in ODI.
Younis Khan, would struggle to get into any team with a strong batting line up let alone the World XI.
