Yet stupid Ijaz Butt kept him out of the team!! … and in a period where we toured Australia, NZ and England. Those results could have been very different with YK at number 3/4.

Lara racked up 8 hundreds in his last 19 games!!

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Awesome

Great stats bro

This shows how much talent and hos fit this guys is Masha Allah

He is a true team player

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Younus has benefited from the retirement of his tormentor Glenn McGrath.

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Having the highest batting average over the past 7 years does not necessarily make Younis Khan the best test batsman during that period … although I won’t dismiss the stats completely either. That honour probably belongs to Kallis, Sangakkara or Sachin. But what these stats do show is Younis’s remarkable consistency in tests since 2005

True Younis has been feasting on some easy wickets in UAE and Karachi but the same is true for batsmen from other countries and Younis has done well not just in India but also in places like Australia (though played in only one test), England and South Africa.

And I do believe that averages even out in the end

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Shows his consistency and fitness. If he has been out of captaincy race this may have been further better. A true test player

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

I really admire this guy…he is definitely a decent player of the modern cricket era. I sure hope he can score against england as well in Pakistan’s home away from home (UAE)

:salute:

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Also note Mohamad Yousuf on the 4th place. has he retired or is not being picked because of politics etc? What a loss ( Him and Mohamad Asif were the best of the best)

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

^^ Asif is worst of worst since he cheated and is now in prison.

Yousuf or MoYo is messed up...he was given another chance and recalled in the England series in 2010 where he failed and later his "usool" clash with Yk caused him to loose his place...also the induction of new blood like Azhar also messes up the balance so MoYo was pushed back in selection specially the fiasco in 2010 Australia tour where 1 notorious match is still under the radar.

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

^^ having said his 202 in England at Lords and that year for him when he exceeded max runs in a calendar year were innings of highest batting standards courtesy his talent and coaching from woolmer.

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Asif was the best bowler, a magician with the ball. That he cheated and gone is a huge loss.

So, MoYo had a problem with YK? Again a big loss because he was a great batsman although a liability as a fielder.

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Younis has missed 10 odd tests thru PCB politics over the past 7 years but look at the number of tests (70 odd) played by Pietersen, Cook, Ponting, Dravid and Sachin (even though he's missed a few series) in the same period. Pak players are clearly at a disadvantage compared with their counterparts from England Australia, and India when it comes to breaking records in test cricket i.e. Pak players do not get to play as many tests during their peak years as players from certain countries

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

eggzaktally!!!!

classic example of ponting and sachin...even though each had talent, their boards made them into the stars they are today...PCB on the other hand...except for in-za-mam did not give anyone the time and chance that they needed...look at YK, MoYo, and the poor structure allowed the politics to ruin team dynamics...
it sucks like nothing has ever sucked in world cricket...

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

that my friend is a paradox of a statement..two opposites in one sentence dont work. if he was a genius then he was an evil genius. And now he can bowl out the prison warden and his men in an indoor match...

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Asif :sunnyboy:

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Both Asif and Yousuf were the best in business purely in cricketing terms. That they are not playing anymore because of non-cricketing reasons can only be called a loss.

Re: Younis Khan averaging the highest in tests since Jan 2005!!

Very impressive stats. Strike rate of 56 is pretty good. (It tickled me to see Misbah's strikke rate was 41).

Anyway, did Younis ever apologize to the fan he beat up so badly a few years ago. IMO, as pointed out earlier in videos thread, that is more deserving of a jail term than Asif.
