This has happened nine times against Australia, with West Indian great Clyde Walcott achieving it twice. 7 Number of Pakistan batsmen who have made hundreds in both innings of a Test match - Younis Khan became the seventh. 4 Number of sixes hit by Ahmed Shehzad during his innings of 131. He is the first Pakistan opener to hit more than three sixes in a Test innings. 66 Number of years since Australia have successfully chased a 400-plus target in Tests, against England in 1948. Successful chases of 400-plus have happened four times in Test history, but a target of 438 or more has never been chased successfully. 3 Number of instances where Pakistan batsmen have scored three or more hundreds in a Test against Australia. Both previous Tests ended in draws. This Test is the sixth instance of Pakistan batsmen scoringfour hundreds in a game - three of those against India. 2 Number of Pakistan openers who have scored a hundred against Australia since 2000. Prior to Ahmed Shehzad’s century during Pakistan’s second innings, Salman Butt had scored two hundreds, in 2005 and 2010. 9 Number of 50-plus opening partnerships for Pakistan in the last three years. Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are the only teams with fewer such opening stands during this period. Pakistan’s openers posted 71 runs during their second innings.

Bravo, A great achievement by a super marvelous batsman! No doubt he's proved himself time in and out. Especially when you are thrown under the bus and you come back saying look wut i've got for ya.
He's literally slammed selectors who really dont know what they are doing in my opinion.
And also I wonder how many younus are out there who are capable of performing like him but are not even considered by selectors or whose talent just die due to rotten domestic system. well thats one gloomy post but its the truth.

he is one of the greatest test player we ever had...what i love abt him is his ability to scored in tough situations..his 267 in india made me his fan forever.

I have personally met Younus, ate lunch and dinner with him and visited him when was in NY through Islamic Relief USA fundraiser for Pakistan. He is an awesome person and that's the best thing about him. Now he is Pakistani cricketing legend forever. He is also only amongst 3 Pakistani test players to ever score a triple hundred. Hanif Mohammand and Inzamam being the other two in that group. Saeed Anwar, Majid Khan and Asif Iqbal, some legends we think of from the past, never even scored a double century in test cricket. So Younus Khan's achievements are definitely worthy of him being made a legend finally.

That is lots of stats challenged in 1 Test, best for me is the twin centuries by Younis, and total of 4 centuries against Australia.... this sort of makes up for the 59 and 53 against them in 2002, both Younis Khan and Misbah were part of that team :D

YK really deserves this place. A true professional. He need to focus on test cricket only and leave ODI. Problem is that now a days most of the money coming from shorter formats.
For these players , cricket being their bread and butter would like to have a go in all formats unless some ways are designed by authorities ( extra pay for tests etc )
Further once we see PK team falling like a house of cards , it looks a YK is needed in the team. ( though I am not in favor of YK being in the ODI or T20 team )

kiss baat ka revenge janab? was he kicked out of the test team? i dont think so...he has been part of the test team for last 12 years, no one has kicked him out of the test squad, so kiss baat ka revennge liya hai younis sahib nay by performing in a test match?
or are you saying that younis needs to be in the ODI format based on his performance in test matches? if that is the case, we will have then have a separate debate why younis does or does not deserve a place in the ODI squad.

Qibla PD paijaan, perhaps you missed Younis Khan's reaction on being axed from the one day side. A player of his class should be playing in One day cricket (instead of Fawad Alam OR Umar Amin imo) any day. He will be selected for the WC. That is how fickle our think tank is...they will reverse their strategy..likha lavo
Back in the day a technically sound player with an average of over 50 runs used to play both forms of cricket. This T20 player, one day player and Test payer dhakosla is a new phenomenon which typecasts players
Having said that,I think Sohaib should also be given a chance in the Test side.
