Younis Khan and Shoaib Akhtar were the biggest beneficiaries in the new list of central contracts given to 19 players by the Pakistan board. Neither players was given a contract last year, but they are now among the seven men in the top category of contracts given out for the six-month period starting January 2011. Kamran Akmal, too, was in the top bracket a day after his abysmal performance behind the stumps against New Zealand in the World Cup.
Legspinner Danish Kaneria was the worst hit, not finding a place in the list after having been awarded a Category A contract last year. Imran Farhat, Faisal Iqbal and Fawad Alam were among the other players overlooked by the PCB. List of contracted players
Category A: Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar
Category B: Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Abdul Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Wahab Riaz
Unless Yousuf is unfit for long, they are making mistake by omitting him specially when its just 6 month contract. He still have a year left in him. PCB might be reading too much in Misbah/Younus performance against NZ.

I agree. Yousuf is not injured for sure. Its just Ijaz Butt politics again. He was on the Ramiz Raja show before the world cup and Ramiz had said something to the effect that you have a big role to play in the upcoming World Cup. So this is again the games of our Chairman.
Razaaq, Younis, shoaib in Category A? What have they done to earn that? and why did PCB not wait till end of WC to announce this or make a decision on who gets contract, clearly that would have made more sense
My biggest hope from this WC was that Pak is going to lose and we will never see players like them again in ODI's
