The award for IT Youth was earned by thirteen-year-old, Afsah Shafquat. She has created three world records, one of which was recently broken by her sister. The records are:
World’s youngest Sun certified Java programmer,
World’s youngest Sun certified web component developer
World’s youngest IBM certified object oriented analyst & designer.
Currently, Afsah is working as Operation Badar’s teaching assistant at Sir Syed University and as a developer, Analyst & Designer in BadarSoft.
A role model indeed , hope more Pakis and girls follow. What a pity how few comments, where have all the brave men gone....didn't register I suppose...........
Well looking at these girls, i am not worthy of calling my self one of the youngest MCSE in the world..
I was 16 when i got myne.. Wonderful this goes to show that the vail on blocking new paths for women is truly gone because my sis, Just completed her masters at Preston University and her husbad is willing to let her do her Phd before the wedding..
The youth of both nation are our only hope for a safer INdia, Pakistan relationship.May we prosper for ever!!!

I can understand a 13 year maths guru...or a 13 year old physicist but a Certified Java programmer?....Java? Whatever happened to pure sciences?..fun and games? For Gods sake!
Give the kids Mechano or lego to play with...maybe that'll bring out the innovative and entrepreneurial talents out of them. This "Operation Badar" has preteens now...Are they trying to prove our ratta system to the world?. We dont need any more code monkeys working at 15c/hr.
Well I am pretty sure Afsah did a great job but I kinda agree with "who___me."
Also being very qualified at a younger age definately comes at the cost of normal childhood. But who am I to judge normal anymore. The norm for 20 year old now is much more education than it was, even 50 years ago.
Some time ago Bachelors was considered a good level for a job....now you dont even make a normal living with Bachelors....specially in Pakistan.
If the opportunity was available to Afsah and she accomplished all this....Well congratulations to her then!
If no one is will to make the self sacrifice do you think there would be any progress? The act of been good in one thing does often come at the expense of another but without it we would just have the average moving along at the average.
This is the way i think about it: Nature is all about the averages and the mean. That is, the average child and so on... however evolution and progress is caused by the extreme that succeeds. and if there were no extremes we would just continue the averages and remain average always.
