Something I always wondered.. what do educated Saudi kids act like? I lived in a small place, and I used to only visit during my summer and winter vacations. All i saw was kids playing kora, riding bicycles, just bumming around or just sitting around doing nothing. Ofcourse, they were on vacation so who would do anything during that. Am I to assume that when school was in session they regularly went to school, studiously studied, and looked forward to going to college and become professionals? I mean looking at a lot of them, it seemed like they had never touched a book in their life.
Whenever I ask my dad, he just laughs. Ofcourse, Saudis have a completely different outlook on life. Unlike most Pakistanis who know that they can't expect the govt to help them with anything, Saudis look at the govt for everything.
I know, very rasict thing to say. But I am just wondering.

I am living in an arab country for many years and nothing happened to me as mentioned in other threads. I agree some are bad but this is everywhere. Some people are good and some are bad. So don't judge whole nation cuz of some idiots.

Lived there my whole life. Can’t say I’ve been mistreated by saudis, but hey, in my 18 years, I’ve only talked to a saudi like, 4 times, and that too wouldv’e been my neighbor when I was 12 years old, to go get my tennis ball from his house if it accidently managed to fly into his house.
They used to be generous ppl around the 70s I’d say, (from what i’ve heard). It all started due to the huge increase in wealth in the saudi families around the 80’s. Their biased distribution of wealth to saudis vs. expats has always given them the upperhand in wealth, even though you cant’ say that non-saudis don’t have the money, its just that the saudis tend to be richer, in most cases. And then, the police takes their side. Why won’t they, most of the expats can’t speak such good arabic, nor do they have the courage to go up to a policeman and embrace him with the traditional ‘saudi’ kiss.
I’d say these two things play a major role, but its mostly in the non-educated society, most educated arabs don’t even think about such stuff.

To the person that thinks that the reason for arabs disliking pakistanis is because they dont try to pick up the language, then two questions come to mind:
1) Why do arab's treat other nationalities (non-desis that is) so nicely...Its not like other people try to pick up their language.
2) Pretty much all desis know at least a few words (like Shukran, Key fa ha lekh etc. etc.)
Arabs may be jerks (esp. palestinians) for whose cause most pakistanis would lay there life for.
My strategy to get back at arabs is not to be abusive to them... I just dont stop over at places like Dubai or fly EMIRATES etc. etc. (dont give them your money). While it may be true that places in canada, US and Britain there may be more racism (but at least these people dont call themselves muslims)...
Besides guys.... Its a bad time to be an ARAB these days... in fact ARABS are scums (at least in the eyes of Americans)... So hey ... there is some sunshine (albeit in a very bad way, and as a muslim i shouldnt wish that I know)!

What annoys me is how Pakistanis over do it with the extravagant welcomes for the stupid Saudis.. In fact, we do that for all of countries. But the Saudis are the last people we should be humbling ourselves for.
WE ARE A LOT BETTER OFF THEN ALOT OF THE ARAB COUNTRIES... We have more freedoms in Pakistan, and in all honestly, we still ahave more potential then any of those countries.
Pakistanis need some self respect... No more god damned ass kissing. No more looking down on ourselves.

There was a arba who once yelled at this pakistani guy "your pakistani father probably cleans my dads toilet in qatar', now there would be two types of answers, people like lajawab who would take that as a compliment and kiss his hands for saying that, and my kind of answers, knock his teeth out! I prefer the latter!

I'm not saying all Arabs are like that but the only ones I've known to be decent are the ones who are into their religion, your average Arab is a dick.
So true. The only decent and humble arabs I've seen are the religious ones, but the rest are a bunch of arrogant, thick headed jerks. Generally the problem is with the Gulf arabs whereas those from poorer countries, like say Jordan are a lot better.

And there are still a whole bunch of Guppies and a Pakistanis who want to change Pakistan's national language to Arabic because Urdu is also spoken in India. Somebody explain.

They are definitely a lot of Pakistanis with an obsession for the Arabic language but I have never seen any demands for it to be made the national language. And I don’t think there ever will be such a demand because most of the people familiar with the language can only “read it” – and I say that loosely as they don’t necessarily understand what they are reading either. Kaefa Halak?

I've heard there's a big hierarchy between them as well, like it makes a big difference if you're Jordanian, Yemeni or Iraqi or whatever, and Egyptians are apparantly regarded as the most inferior Arabs of the lot. So they have internal problems too.

^ I thought Palestinians were considered inferior probably because they were rendered homeless and sought refuge in other Arab countries (post 1948 mainly).
