Pakistan batsman Yousaf Youhana has been given the go-ahead to play in the ICC Champions Trophy starting in Sri Lanka next week.
“I have been cleared by the doctors and the cricket board to fly to Colombo on Sunday to join the team,” Youhana told Reuters after recovering from a shoulder injury.
The 28-year-old was sent home last month from the triangular tournament in Kenya on disciplinary grounds.
But the Pakistan board found that he had been struggling with the shoulder injury and that had prompted an argument with captain Waqar Younis in the nets.
Youhana said: “I am over that nightmare period now. I have paid 10 visits to the doctor to get treatment for my shoulder injury and I have recovered well now.”
Pakistan have struggled recently and only made the final of the Kenya tournament against Australia at the expense of Kenya.
Youhana said: “It has been a testing time for everyone of us. But I am confident that I can contribute to the team and we will get back into form in the Champions Trophy.”
Pakistan play in the first match in the Trophy, against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
That is very good news, we desperately need him and hopefully Inzi would also have recovered fully by the time the matches start in order to strengthen the middle order.

This sounds like an excuse to me - What was the injury though ? He had so much Pain in Shoulder that he couldn't come to Practice in Tangiers and then in Kenya and it healed within 10 days ??
Anyways Good for Pakistan Team , Hope ans wish he does well.

You probably have never played a sport in your entire life, when there is an injury, a player should be given completely rest.
This is not the first time he was having trouble with the his shoulders, in WC 99 he missed the final due to shoulder injury.
If Him and Inzi comeback into the lineup, who are going to be the ones to go, the only 2 choices are Afridi or Younks Khan.

Or maybe instead of strnghting the middle order we should be looking to have a strong opening pairs, who should be opening along with Anwar.
Definatly not Imran Nazir.
Maybe Shoaib Malik sounds reasonable, he played sensibly today.

I think on subcontinet wickets where you need a flying start Imran nazir will be better choice than Malik.
aaah good news so things seems to line up for Pakistan atlast :). They qualify to play for 3rd position in CT, then they crossed 200 runs mark yesterday and here is another good news Youhana is back :)

If He was not fit enough to play then why was he selected in the team ??
About me not playing any sport - Once again you are making assumptions. You are talking as If you are the leading fast bowler/batsmen in the world and you would know everything
Like I said before he is extremely talented and one of the most talented batsman in the world but the guy does not have a brain.
Its one thing if the guy lacks batting skills which he is bound to learn further in his career but players like Imran Nazir can not be included in the winning team.
I hope he learns something from todays batting by Mizbah and Malik who played a useful inning to get Pakistan to a competitve score.
