Re: "You used to be so pretty"

people in Pakistan just have a habit of commenting of anything and everything! IGNORE them. Take everything they say with a pinch of salt.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

tell them u used to be in Kindergarten too...

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

Thanks for replying everyone. Wonderful answers, I'll keep them in mind for future use. :D

Zareen Khan, I didn't lie but I didn't put any effort in finding a rishta for her either.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

If you feel hurt then it can mean only one thing, don't ask me what, because truth hurts. :@:

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

I know I don't look like a 17 year old girl anymore but should I really look like a whole 10 years younger than my age? It's frustrating rather than the feeling of "truth hurts" because there is no truth to it.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

that was more a joke to say that what every one starts speaking about is always a truth :)

This is a very common sentence people say to each other "tum ab pehlay jaisi/jaisay nahi rahay" and when some one says this, to me it never means that intention is to let other person down through this sentence. It is just a change in us that years of life bring in and we must accept it.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

^but they don't say "tum pehlay jaisi nahi rahi", they say, "tum pehlay buhat khubsurat hua karti thi".

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

oh well i have to say... there are one or two people i know and even though i don't say it, nor does anyone else you do think 'what the hell happened???'. they were absolutely gorgeous when they got married, turning heads, and then 10 years later you do think 'waaat??'.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

Who cares about relatives, I hear it from my own mother all the time. Before i went to uni everyone used to comment on my looks and my mum used to call me all these nice names and compliment me on my face all the time. after i went to uni i suffered severe acne and a bad facial hair problem. Both things wrecked my skin and then i was prescrived birth control pills by my doctor and gained alot of weight and really bad dark circles. I'm not looking forward to go to pakistan anytime but its ok when you hear stupid things from your own mother you are prepared for anyth8ng.

Its like all my self worth was in my looks buti dont think that is the case. I've become wiser as I've aged (I'm only 23 lol) and have been better in my religion and have developed alot of skills i didnt have before, sure people cant see that as my face is the first thing they see but really i dont care those things are for myself.

The funny thing is when i look in the mirror i dont think i look really bad, there are plenty of things i like about myself so i find it strange when people are mean.

When i have a daughter or a son i wont compliment them eccessivly, i will compliment them more on their personality and good deeds and intelligence more than their looks

I really hate bumping into old classmates though as they are always surprised lol.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

I think its all about your relationship with your sisters, since you guys have an icy history. I think you're bound to feel the tease in her comments even if she's says you are beautiful.

I'm one of those people who are not very good at spotting differences in myself, it takes a comment or two for me to actually have a look at myself, and if I do see a change I'll either try to reverse or appreciate it (depends what the difference is) or if I don't, I simply ignore the comments. So for me sometimes its nice when people tell you that you've changed in this way or how you used to be, because with time comes change and often you don't really realise that you've changed. But then again it depends where it comes from and how.

I mean the other day someone told me that you used to have bubbly cheeks in college and I came home and looked myself in the mirror and went yeah thats right where did my bubbly cheeks go? Before that I almost forgot how I used to look like in college.

Re: "You used to be so pretty"

What makes you think I care about what you think about me ? She knows I am just kidding around. :@:

Re: “You used to be so pretty”

Why so serious , you know I am just teasing you. :silly:
