American Urdu newspapers as in Pakistan Times, Pakistan Post, etc. They can be found at most desi grocery stores. Sometimes the inside pages are full of these ads.
Those ads are really sad. They promise spiritual solutions to all kinds of problems, failing business, not finding a suitable match for daughter, immigration, illness, family dispute, divorce, etc. Some even promise lottery numbers.
Now, I understand that people sometimes get really hopeless in the face of such issues, but the lottery number stuff is seriously dumb. Why doesn’t the peer or swami himself play the lottery and win?

LOL yes I've seen them, esp those of some dude named 'Ajweri Baba' from UK I think. Some people my friend knows follow him so blindly that it's just sad. Like they claim he did not eat or drink anything the day he was born because he was "fasting"
Khair, back at topic. Once 2 of my friends decided to blow his cover (though they knew) and called his hotline from 2 different phones at the same time. They both asked who is speaking and the answer was "Ajweri Baba"...so they said "But how can you be ajweri baba when one of my other friend is talking to another person right now from another phone who also claims to be ajweri baba?" at which point the 2 people hung up on my friends.

We have an hour long radwaa program here on some swami who keeps on repeating his cell number on air…Im like I want Lotto numbers …can I have em…and not yesterdays:D

i think its ajmeri baba, and then there is peer syed saab…their adz aired in between indian movies. but i dont think i ever saw them on pakistani channels .

This practice is not legal in US and that's the reason why they have UK phone numbers............I remember way back in 80's they used to have lots of US gora baba's ads popping up until the laws came up to forbid them from advertising.
