that is so true. I cant take old or handicaped people walking infront of me - be it the subway or the street sidewalk. It's very annoying to have to steer pass them.

wasn't there a test done a while back about how people from different major cities treated pregnant women on a subway.
Surprisingly, the result showed that a new yorker was more likely to give up his/her seat for a pregnant woman when there are no empty seats available.
Did anybody else read about this in the news, it was a few years back but still?

please know, not all ny residents are detached or rude. what you have conveyed in 4 instances, is an can be true of any metropolitan.
when in middle of the work day, people are going to get their lunch or attend a meeting, they can't stop for a chat.
perhaps after work hours with a long no time seen friend.
rest of all is also a generalization. :>

Yes I know Duawari...I've lived here all my life! Those things are my pet peeves about living here I guess. There are some lovely people here and some really great things about living here...

NY, seems like any big city to me, the best thing about NY city for me is the fact that there's so much diversity....so many different religions and ethnicities all living together. So what if they swear at each other once in a while, as long as they don't kill each other that's fine....
