guys, this is a typical discussions between conservative and modern muslims. they are doing it in their own country- for this instance netherlands. if u don't agree. leave it. and what am i reading, 40% muslims in UK wants muslim law. i thought brit muslims are quite modern and adaptives. i think it's only in india, muslims are quiet modern and educated.

The Europeans are finding out that it is not a matter of age or the openness of their society. The Europeans opend their arms to Arabs and Muslims from all over the word. However, they are finding that Muslims refuse to assimilate into their new societies. The immigrants come to a society and attack the very foundations of the society that allowed them in, in the first place.
So, what does that say? What do these polls say? To an ever growing number of Europeans, it says that Muslims are intolerant to their hosts and the sociatal norms of their countries. That is why there is this backlash. That is why people are being made to watch movies like this. That is why "foreign" clerics have to under go sensitivity training. These are attempts to keep out people whose views are contradictory to their potential hosts. I bet the hope is, that most new immigrants fail the "test".

The notion that Europeans are liberal tree-huggers and are extending their arms to embrace muslims from a humanitarian POV is a crock of shyt . They just needed a bunch of younger, darker immigrants who could speak the language, live in a ghetto, and work the shytty jobs for a lower wage to sustain their shytty economies.

They may be foreign to you, but they, the customs and traditions, are native to Europeans. It is the Muslims that are in a foreign land, not the other way around.
It should be plain. Europeans are saying, if you don’t like it…leave or better yet, don’t come. Simply, if you don’t want to, as you say, “let go of our culture and traditions and adopt those foriegn to us”, don’t leave your countries.
Therein lies another problem. As in the riots in France, there are immigrants who don’t even speak French and refuse to learn. The questions remains, what are they doing there? As for needing labor, it is true Europe needs labor. However, the labor they need is skilled labor, not the uneducated type provided by most Muslims immigrants…but be that as it may.
For the sake of argument, even if they are coming for “shytty” jobs, they are coming of their own volition. They are not forced into servitude, or taken slaves. They come for a reason. Even with the “shytty” jobs, thier lives are probably much better than in their own countries. If they don’t like racist Europeans, don’t go to Europe. But if you do go, learn to live by their norms. No one is coming to Pakistan or Saudi Arabia and rioting for not allowing freedom of religion.

I think here both sides have some valid point.
Those who do not want to accept what is considered by them wrong must not
go into places where these actions are considered not acceptable.
The original post is correct and better alternatives are present.
However, example of France is weak and illogical.
One must not force anyone to adopt to any culture or religion (rather attract).
No one forces non-muslims living in muslim countries to pray five times or agree with islamic values by force.
Many times foreigners want to walk half naked in muslim countries and its Ok to stop that in muslims countries if they want to.
What France has done is forced people into poverty and social isolation...a deliberate attempt.
I say these people from france or other countries in Europe must seek asylem into other countries if they feel they are being treated unequally (if they are already citizens of these countries) or move back to where they came from.
Some people love to blame muslims for everything wrong in some of these matters and no one can do anything about that.

How does forcing people to watch a video help them to integrate? Someone sitting through a video, means what? does it make them more dutch or liberal all of a sudden? I think not. People arent as fickle as that.
Also, if that video is what the dutchies are all about, then people are much better off going elsewhere, like britian for example, where generally people are more conservative...in public anyway.
For most people however, its just another obstacle in getting their citizenship, and after that, its back to thier own way. whose to stop them then? You can integrate to an extent with culture, but religion is another matter altogether. I'm afraid, it doesnt dissappear with one crappy little video.

I sid give me a reason why they should assimilate. You don't give one. Yes they are foriegn to me. Tell me this if a French man moves to Saudi Arabia for a job should he assimilate into Saudi culture? Does that mean his wife should wear the abaya or whatever it is?
No Europeans are saying come, but be like us. Do a search on Europe and its employment issues. You will notice that 90% of the jobs that Muslims do are jobs the Europeans will not touch themselves because it is beneath them. The Europeans need migrants to come and live and stay and more importantly to reproduce. What they however demand is that they act like the white europeans and ignore their own customs and traditions.
Again give me one reason why people should assimilate.

Europeans have an ulterior motive to let muslims into their countries, so they are not saints.
Europeans colonized half the world, destroyed indigenous cultures, raped, pillaged and oppressed the local population, and now some faggot non-european apologist comes in here and gives us a lecture on how other non-europeans won't assimilate? If tomorrow Scotland becomes a colony of India where curry is the main staple, i will welcome it with open arms.
