For my 20th birthday I had a picnic with some close friends. Immediate family got me a cake and we had a nice dinner. Extended family…:hmm: got gifts too and lots of well wishes..My dad’s cousin got married on my birthday, so everyone knew it was my birthday:hula::smack:

When I gothome my best friend had had a huge bouquet of flowers delievered to my house..even though she does not like flowers and wasted a lot of money:smack:..but they were so pretty:blush:

I also

*completed my 2nd year of my law degree

  • became a phupo for the first time
*became part of my university Islamic Society Committee..the first girl to do so in the history…alongside another girl
    *made lots of new friends
*learn how to cook..like more than a sandwich

still have a few weeks left at a 20 year old:blush:

Re: You at 20 …

When I was 20, I changed my major for the first time. I was driving on hwy 2 twice a day atleast 5 days a week on a learner’s license. Oh and my younger bro officially declared that he is no more younger then me… I don’t remember anything else… it seems like a long time :bummer:

Re: You at 20 …

I was finishing 3rd year of Engineering. :chai:

Re: You at 20 …

thanks dewani teri:blush:nice to be appreciated!

I was in my 2nd year of college and having alot of fun...I had gotten engaged and was was thinking about a wedding dress even though I didnt have any plans to get married for another 3 years...

Life was a bit complicated then compared to what's it now..

FEBRUARY There was a surprise party at my house...my sister invited every desi person she knew. 10 girls came plus 1 guy. It was funny..it seemed like his bday more than mine! I really loved my family and friends that day for all their mehnat.

MARCH I finally got my greencard, and started my first job. This job was a huge blessing, I met so many people, and the money helped me socialize, and buy new clothes, eat what I wanted, buy my brothers things, get a new bicycle, YMCA membership, etc.

I also got elected to student government.

My grades were mashAllah all good.

SUMMER My best friend from Pakistan got to live in the dorms, so my parents would let me sleep in her dorm sometimes. So I was really grateful my parents trusted me and let us study there in peace.

After this year, lots of things changed :(( :-| Parents stopped paying my tuition, so I had to work a little extra, i left SG, my grades started dropping and I couldn't catch up...etc etc

So this year was a turning point of my life in both good ways and bad. I would never have guessed I would be what I am now.

Re: You at 20 ...

working/studying
nothing changed except new house, car

At 20, i took part in a playwriting course, and at the end of it, was part of a one week festival in which my play and others were performed :). it was pretty surreal. and it was also the first time that i had been away from my family by myself too.

Also at 20, i started falling in love with my now hubby :).

So it was a good year in all

oops apart from one thing, i fell out with my best friend from school, we havent spoken since. lol. otherwise, good times:biggthumb
